Importing a functional area

Functional areas can be imported into Infor Risk & Compliance by uploading  CSV files containing the functional areas. Before importing the CSV file, you need to add the Infor Risk & Compliance site to the list of trusted sites on  Internet Explorer as follows:

  1. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security.
  2. Click Trusted Sites. This ensures that the correct CSV file path is displayed on the user interface.

Import a functional area as follows:

  1. On the Functional Area List tab, click the More actions icon and click Import. A pop-up window is displayed.
  2. Browse for the required CSV file and click the Upload icon to upload it. Give the import task a name.
  3. Click Import. Once imported, functional areas appear on the Functional Areas page on refresh. The import task can be tracked through the Tasks page where you can check the status of the task.

The CSV file must contain the following  columns:

    • Name

This column contains the name of the functional area, sub-functional area, variable name or scope.

    • Parent Name

This column contains the name of the parent row. In the case of a top level row it will be empty.

    • Type

This column identifies the row type. This can have one of the following values:

      • FunctionalArea
      • SubArea
      • Variable
      • ExplicitScope
      • PatternScope
    • Value

This column contains the data related to type:

      • Schema attribute in case of a variable
      • Approver Profile in case of a scope
    • Description

This column contains a description of the functional area or the functional area variable.

Note: If the functional area being imported already exists in the application  under the same name, the new functional area will not be imported. To import a functional area with the same name, first rename the functional area and then proceed with the import.
