Creating connection for Infor

For the Process Insight for Infor, transaction data from the Infor enabled ERP systems is published in the Infor Bus and is stored in the Base DataStore of Business vault.

Whereas for the Authorizations Insight for Infor, Infor Risk & Compliance is enabled to get security BOD data for Infor enable application directly from the Infor BUS.

This data has to be extracted from the Infor database into Infor Risk & Compliance for analysis. Connections created on this page enable you to extract security data from the Infor database.

On the Connections page, click New and click Infor to display the Infor: New Connection page. Provide the following information on the Connection Info tab to create a connection for Infor:

Field Name Details
Connection Name Provide a unique name for the connection.
Description Provide a description for this connection.
User Name and Password Provide the credentials to access the Infor Risk & Compliance database where the Infor tables are saved. The default database for this user should be the database specified in the DataSource field.
Server Provide the name of the server hosting the Infor Risk & Compliance database.
DataSource Provide the name of the Infor Risk & Compliance database.
Port This is not a mandatory field. Provide the port number of the SQL server hosting the Infor Risk & Compliance database. If the port number is not specified, the default post number 1433 is picked.
Application Code Provide the logical ID of the application type for which the connection is being created. The logical ID specified here must map to the logical ID mentioned in the BOD published by the ERP or by the Application.

Data from this application in the Infor tables is extracted into the Infor Risk & Compliance tables of the Infor Risk & Compliance database.

The application name provided here is displayed in the Server column of the Connections home page

Language

From the Language drop-down list, select the required  language. All records that are in the selected language in the ERP system are  extracted. The records that are not in the selected language, are extracted in the default language. For example, if English is selected in this field, all records that are in English are extracted. If any of the records are not in English, they are extracted in the default language.

To add new languages to this field, configure the settings in IONConnectionLangauges.xml file. See the Infor Risk & Compliance Platform - Configuration Settings Guide.

User ID Policies Selecting the User ID Policies check box enables you to define the combination of characters that should be used to specify the User ID for the users created for this connection through an User Creation What-if or an User Creation Request. Clear this check box if you do not wish to define the user ID policies. By default, the check box is selected.

If you wish to secure this connection, select Secured Connection. The Select Connection Owners and Select Connection Users fields displayed enable you to define the owners and users of this connection. This ensures that only the users selected in these fields can view the data extracted through this connection. If you do not wish to secure this connection, select the Not Secured Connection.

Select the radio button Do not map connection users, as no mapping criteria is defined for Infor connections.

Click Save. Before saving the connection, the Infor Adapter validates the specified connection parameters. If any of the specified connection parameters is incorrect, an error message is displayed on the user interface.
