Application Server Prerequisites
- Verify that all IRC Services are running on the IRC application server.

Before upgrade, antivirus services should be disabled or excluded
from upgrade as these Services may block files during upgrade. The anti-virus
Services can be enabled after upgrade is complete. Unless the Services are
excluded or disabled, upgrade may fail and you will see this error in the log
files:

To disable anti-virus Services:
- Go to the Services control screen.
- Select the required anti-virus Service. Stop the Service.
- Right click the Service name. Select Properties. Select the Startup type as ‘disabled’.

Ensure that ‘Windows Indexing Services are disabled for the folder
[Install Path] as well as for the folder where the back-up will be taken as
follows:
- Right-click on the folder and click Properties.
- Click Advanced.
- On the Advanced Attributes page, clear the check box ‘For fast searching, allow the Indexing service to index this folder’.
- Unless this is done, upgrade may fail and you will see the following error message in the log files:

- If User Access Control is turned on, then ensure that the logged in user (the user who is executing upgrade) has write permission on the IRC Install Path.
