Data extraction using the loader wizard

Use the extractor wizard for extraction as follows:

  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs > IRC, and click the IRC Portable Data Extractor.
  2. Click Next on the Welcome screen.
  3. On the Select Data Source screen, select Use data from local files option and click Next.
  4. Select the input file format.
  5. Provide the BIF XML Format. Formats supported are SAP AI, Oracle AI, Peoplesoft HR AI, and Peoplesoft FI AI.
  6. Select the input Excel file or input CSV files folder.
    Note: 
    • If the input is an Excel file, select the appropriate option from the Excel reader option drop down.
    • If Microsoft Access Database Engine is installed, select the Use Microsoft Access driver for Excel option
    • If Microsoft office with Primary Interop Assembly (PIA) is installed, select the Use Microsoft Office Interop for Excel option.
  7. Provide the output file name.
  8. Provide the output directory for storing the generated BIF XML files and connection information.
    Note: In case of failed extractions, refer to the log files. The log files are located at [Install Path]\TMonitor\bin\logs.LegacyDataExtractor_Date.log. LegacyDataExtractor_Date.log contains logs related to extraction and object failures.
  9. Click Generate to begin the extraction. When extraction is complete, the summary of the extraction is displayed.
    The summary page displays the number of records extracted for the corresponding objects. It also displays any error occurred during the extraction.
