Installing the IRC Portable Data Extractor
Note: Ensure that the server on which the IRC PDE is installed has the
regional settings set to US English
Install the IRC Portable Data Extractor as follows:
- From the Infor Global Download Center, click the IRC Portable Data Extractor/Scheduler and download the zip file to your local machine and unzip it.
- Copy the folder containing the IRC PDE installer files to the local machine.

Right-click PDEInstallationKit.exe and select Run as Administrator.
Alternatively, double-click setup.exe from the \PDE\1-Portable_Data_Extractor_Install folder. The Welcome screen of the installation wizard is displayed.
Note: The IRC PDE cannot be installed directly from the IRC PDE package or a network shared path. The IRC PDE package should be copied or unzipped directly to a root drive (C:\) on the local machine. Do not copy or unzip to the desktop or a folder structure with several subfolders as files may be truncated and installation will fail. - Click Next. The Install Type screen is displayed.

Select one of these
types of installations:
- Typical: Select this option to install IRC PDE as well as all supported ERPs and Insights. In this case, the wizard runs a prerequisite check for all supported ERPs. If the prerequisites are met, all Insights can be installed.
- Custom: This option allows you to select a specific ERP. The prerequisite check will be performed, for the ERP selected.

From the Types of connector drop-down
list, select the connector to be used for data extraction. If you select the
Java connector, SAP .Net Connector
3.0.22, or SAP NCO connector, you need to run
the Using the Switch SAP Connector Utility to set up the connectors. Refer to the section
Post-installation tasks in this document.
Note: Even if a specific connector is selected, it is possible to switch between connectors at any later date. The Switch SAP Connector Utility facilitates switching between connectors.
- Select the desired ERP from the list.

Click Next. The Prerequisite
Check screen is displayed.
The Prerequisite Check screen displays the name and status of the prerequisite.
The prerequisites that the system should search for can be configured through the following file: BEUPreRequisitesConfig.xml.
- If all the prerequisites are available, the Status column displays the status Passed in green.
- If any prerequisites are missing, the Status column displays the status U in red.
Note: If any of the prerequisites is found missing, the Additional Information column displays the website from which the missing prerequisite can be downloaded - Click Next to begin the installation. The Install screen is displayed.
- Click Install to begin installing. The Setup Wizard screen is displayed.
- Click Next to select your installation folder.
- The Folder text box displays the location where the IRC PDE will be installed. The default location for a 64-bit machine is C:\Program Files\Approva\Portable Data Extractor. Click Browse to select a different location. Select whether everyone or only you will be using the IRC PDE on this particular machine.
- Click Next to continue. The Confirm Installation screen is displayed.
- Click Next to begin installation. The screen displays the IRC PDE installation in progress. When installation is complete, the Installation Complete screen is displayed.
- Click Close to exit the wizard.
Note: Installation files are stored at the default location:
C:\Program Files\Approva\Portable Data Extractor.
