Accessing the system with specific authorizations insight

This section deals with the minimum permissions required to extract data from the Lawson System Foundation (LSF) system into IRC.

The Lawson Portal user who is specified in the Actor Name field while creating a Lawson connection in IRC must be assigned a Lawson role which has a Security Class with a rule that gives the user access to the object ‘SERVER’. This access must be available under Security MetaData in the ADM profile Id.

To provide this access to the above user:

  1. Go to Start > All Programs > Lawson Software.
  2. Click Security Administrator. The Lawson login screen is displayed.
  3. In the Server field, specify the name of the server on which the Lawson System Foundation (LSF) is installed.
  4. In the User and Password fields, specify the credentials of the Security Administrator and click OK.
  5. Select the Profile Management panel. On the right-hand panel that is displayed, double-click ADM in the Profile Id column.
  6. Double-click the required Security Class for which the above rule is to be added.
  7. In the window that displays the details of the selected Security Class, click View / Modify Rule.
  8. Click Add Rule. Expand Securable Types > Security MetaData and select SERVER. On the right-hand panel, select Grant All Access and click Apply.
  9. Click on Class Assignment on the left hand panel, and select the role to be assigned from the Role Name list.
  10. Click on the Assign Security Classes button, select the Security Class used in Step 6.
  11. Edit the Lawson Portal user information specified in the Actor Name field from the Lawson RM Administrator.
  12. Select the role specified in Step 9 to be assigned to the user. Ensure that the user has been given the SuperAdminRole.

This user can then extract data from the Lawson System Foundation (LSF) system into IRC.
