Configuring the utility

Before you start using the utility for generating the System Health report, you should configure the database settings, the application server and the database server.

To configure:

  1. Right click Infor iconin the system tray and click Database Settings. The Connect to Server screen is displayed.
    1. Provide the SQL server name.
    2. From the Authentication drop-down list, select the authentication scheme being used by your application server to connect to the SQL server.
    3. If you select SQL server authentication, provide the credentials to access SQL server. The user accessing the SQL server should have administrator privileges and sysadmin role
    4. Provide the IRC database name.
    5. Click Connect.
    Note: When you configure the Database Settings for the first time, the system prompts for enabling the Show advance option and the Ole Automation Procedure . You must click Yes to continue.
  2. Right click Infor icon again and click Configure Settings. The Configure screen is displayed with the General tab open by default.
    1. From the Event Log Type drop-down list, provide the type of event you want to view in the Server Health report.
    2. Provide the maximum number of event logs you want to view in the report.
    3. From the Filter Data list, select the data to be filtered.
      All data is selected, by default.
    4. Provide the frequency for generating the report. Once you set the frequency, the system will keep generating the report after the specified time. For example, if you set the frequency as 8 hours, the report will be automatically generated after every 8 hours and sent by mail to the user name configured in the Mail Setup mail.
      (To run the notification on demand, right click Infor icon-> click Run Now).
    5. Provide the mail details in the Mail Setup field.
  3. Click the Application Server tab.
  4. The Server Health report provides details of the Application server and the Disk Settings as the Application Settings and Disk Settings check boxes are enabled by default. Clear the check boxes if you do not want the details in the report.
  5. Provide the threshold value of the install drive and the physical memory. The report will display warnings on reaching the threshold value. The total size and the free size values are populated automatically.
  6. Click the Database Server tab.
  7. Select the Database Settings and Disk Settings check boxes to get details of the database server in the Server Health report. Clear the check boxes if you do not want the details in the report.
  8. Provide the threshold value of the install drive and the physical memory. The report will display warnings on reaching the threshold value. The total size and the free size values are populated automatically.
  9. Click Save to save the configuration settings.
