To convert from XML to Excel:

  1. Double-click the BRRuleConverter.exe. The Rule Conversion Utility screen is displayed.
  2. Select the option Convert from XML to Excel.
  3. In the Application Type field, select the desired application from the drop-down list.
  4. Select the option Convert from XML to Excel.
  5. Specify the XML file you want to convert to Excel. Click the browse icon to locate the file.
  6. Specify a directory path to store the new Excel file. Click the browse icon to locate the path.
  7. Provide a name for the output Excel file. If no file name is specified, the utility will create the output file with the name Infor Risk & Compliance Rule Book Rules.xlsx for Microsoft Office 2008 and above. For Microsoft Office 2003, the utility creates the output file with the name Infor Risk & Compliance Rule Book Rules.xls appended with a time stamp for the rule book Excel file and the parameter list or the parameter library Excel file.

A log file named BRXMLToXL.log will be created at the output path. If the file already exists, it will be appended. The names of the input and output files are logged to the log file.

  8. Click Convert. A message box confirms the conversion. Any exceptions or errors encountered during the conversion are logged in a log file located at the output directory path specified.
  9. Click Exit to close the application and view the converted file at the specified output location.
Note: Click View Rules Template or View Parameter Library Template to view the pre-defined Excel templates shipped with the utility.
