Exporting rule books
Export rule books to share rule books with other users or use same rule books on the different IRC servers. Multiple rule books can be exported at a time.
Export a rule book as follows:

Select
Design > Rule
Books.
The Rule Books page opens.
- On the Rule Books page, select the check box next to the rule book to be exported.

Click the
More Actions icon and
click
Export.
The Export Rule Books window opens.
- Provide a task name to track this task. You can track the task from the Tasks page or the Import Export page.
- To export all existing rule books, select the Export All Rule Books check box.

Select an option to export your rule books on the
Rule Book Export Options panel. If you select
the check box Select All, then the rule books are exported with all the
attachments such as the compensating controls, exclusion lists, documentation
and alerts. You can also select specific options as explained below:

Export
as XML file:
If multiple rule books are selected, they will be exported as a single .xml file. This option is selected by default.

Compress output in a Zip file:
If multiple rule books are selected, an .xml file is created for each rule book and all .xml files are zipped together in a .zip folder.

Exclusion Lists:
Select this option to export all the exclusion lists attached to the rules in the Rule Book.

Documentation:
Select this option to export the documentation attached to the rules in the Rule Book.

Alerts:
Select this option to export the actions associated with a Rule Book.
Note: If you clear all the Rule Book Export options and click Export, an error message is displayed. To export a rule book, select Export as XML file or Compress output in a Zip file, and Rule Book Details.The format used to name exported rule book files is:
<login name>_<rule book name>_<dd-mm-yyyy>_<hh-mm-ss>.xml
If rule book names contain special characters (/ \ : * ? " < >), the special characters are replaced with $, when the file is exported. When the file is imported back into the IRC application, users can rename the file as required. Export or import will not be impacted in any way.
