Extraction Types

IRC enables you to perform these types of extractions:

  • Full extraction

In a full extraction, data from the previous extraction is replaced with the latest extracted data. This type of extraction can be used if you want to refresh your data, if a previous extraction has failed, or if you encounter some internal problems.

Note: Full Extraction has an impact on requests and approval process templates.
  • Incremental Extraction

In an incremental extraction only the data that has changed since the previous extraction is extracted from the ERP application. This extraction significantly reduces extraction time and extracts changes that have occurred in the data for a specified date range.

  • Two step extraction

Two step extraction is specific to Configuration Insight for SAP only.

  • Background extraction

The Process Insight for SAP, User Activity Insight for SAP, and the Authorizations Insight for SAP support background extraction.

  • Rule Based Extraction

For the Configuration Insights for SAP and Configuration Insights for SAP IMG, extractions can be scoped based on a rule book or a set of rule books.

  • Online Extraction

Online Extraction is the process of directly connecting to the ERP system to extract data.

  • Offline Extraction

You can select the offline extraction option to extract data from an offline connection.
