Configuring Violation Notification Settings
After entering details on the Rule Book Details tab, click or click the Actions tab. The system displays the Actions tab on the New Rule Book page.
The Actions tab specifies how users are to be notified in the event of a violation and which users must be alerted. It gives you the these options:
- Writing to Log - The write to log action writes a log file when this rule is violated. This log file is specified in the Violation Log File Settings field on the Configuration page.
- Notifying Users by E-mail -
E-mail notifications can be sent to a single user, multiple users, or a
distribution list.
Note: Before selecting this option, ensure that the e-mail notification settings have been configured through the Configuration section.
- Writing to Log and Notifying Users by E-mail - Log into to the violations and notify users by e-mail.
- Sending E-mail Messages Using Parameters - IRC gives you the option of using parameters to send email notifications. The parameter list drives the email addresses used in the alerts.
