What-if analysis

A What-if analysis helps you to determine the impact of changes such as modifying role or responsibility assignments or creating new users before actually requesting the change in your ERP system. What-if analysis can be created for Authorizations Insights only.

The What-ifs home page displays the list of What-if analyses created by the signed in user and the status of these What-ifs. The page also enables you to generate the Violation Details report a specific What-if.

Listed are some of the scenarios for which you can perform a test analysis.

  • Changing authorizations or attributes
  • Modifying role or responsibility assignments
  • Creating new users in your ERP system

After the analysis is performed, the What-ifs page is updated with the status. Violations are indicated with an icon. If your What-if does not generate any violations, the Generate request button in the Actions column is enabled, allowing you to convert the What-if into a request asking for the change to be made in the ERP system.

Note: A What-if can be converted into a request only if Access Manager is installed on the Application Server.

Click the Generate Report icon to generate the Violation Details report for the What-if.
