Parameter lists
Large organizations comprising of several smaller organizational units, divisions or plants, can enforce a consistent set of controls across the entire environment. Normally, multiple copies of rule books and rules must be created to accomplish this. Parameter lists provide the ability to enable you to apply the same rule condition in many different scenarios without copying the rule repeatedly and changing the rule conditions accordingly.
Before you create a parameter list, you must first create parameters in the Parameter Library. After created, parameters can be included into a parameter list where parameters can be given specific values.
Parameters can be attached to rule conditions while building rules instead of hard-coding the values. At this point the parameters act as placeholders for the actual values. At the time of analysis, the parameter list containing the parameters (with values) is attached. During analysis, the parameters in the rule condition are replaced with the actual values.
