Data Sources
Data sources are the source of the data that is imported into Certification Manager for the purpose of being reviewed. This data may be imported either through a CSV file, a xml file, an ODBC connection or from a IRC connection.
A data source enables you to import the following types of data:
- Primary and secondary objects that participate in review processes, and details of these objects.
- Details of the relationship between primary and secondary objects.
- Details of the reviewer groups associated with the primary review objects.
The Data Sources page lists all the data sources created for standard as well as custom application schemas. This page also displays other details such as the name and description of the data source, and the application schema for which the data source is created.
You can perform the following actions from this page:
- Search for a data source
- Create or modify a data source for Lawson application schema
- Create or modify data source for standard application schemas
- Create or modify data sources for custom application schemas
- Delete a data source:
Select the check box next to the data source to be deleted and click the
Delete icon. Deleting a
data source clears all the data imported from that data source during the
subsequent cleanup cycle of Certification Manager.
If a data source is deleted, all notification subscriptions created to for this data source are automatically cancelled.
Deleted data sources are not available for selection during process creation.
Note: Data sources that are associated with processes cannot be deleted. - Execute data import task
from a data source: Data from a selected data source can be imported into
Certification Manager by clicking the
Execute icon next to it. If
data import is in progress, this icon is not displayed next to that data
source.
When you click the Execute icon, the user interface displays a message stating that the task is executed. Click the Tasks page link on this message to view the status of this task on the Tasks page.
Note: If data is being imported through a CSV file, ensure that 'Everyone' has full permissions on the Data folder located at [Install Path]\CertificationManager\Data. In case of inadequate permissions, data import from a CSV file may fail. All the objects imported into Certification Manager are displayed on the Objects page.Details of all the objects skipped during import can be viewed in the CM_IMPORT_FAIL_PERSON_OBJECT table of the Certification Manager database.
