SQL reporting server requirements

  • Reporting Service SQL 2008 R2 + SP3 Standard or Enterprise - 64 bit
  • Reporting Service SQL 2012 Standard or Enterprise + SP1/SP2/SP3/SP4 - 64-bit
  • Reporting Service SQL 2014 +SP1/SP2/SP3 Enterprise or Standard - 64bit
  • Reporting Service SQL 2016 SP1/SP2 - Standard or Enterprise 64-bit
    Note: When using Reporting Server SQL 2016 with IE 11, you must either add the following tag or edit an existing tag with the following tag <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge">

    The tag must be added in the <head> tag of the report server on the ReportViewer.aspx page located at [SQL Server Instance path]\Reporting Services\ReportServer\Pages.

    For Clustered support, you must use the SQL 2016 SP1 Enterprise Edition 64 bit.

  • SQL Server 2019 CU4 Standard or Enterprise 64 bit
  • SQL Server 2017 CU20 Standard or Enterprise 64 bit
Note: A separate reporting services installer is available for SQL 2017 and 2019.
Note: Native Mode (level 90), collation set to the default value: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS).
Note: When Database Server and Report Server are different, the Report Server must be manually added as a linked server on the Database Server. You must configure the linked server before installing and activating Certification Manager. The account used for linking must be the same account used for DB creation, that is, the sysadmin account.
