Creating connection for PeopleSoft

Before creating a connection, ensure the following:
  • If the backend database is Oracle, install Oracle 11g Client Release 2  on the server hosting Infor Risk & Compliance. Create a connection entry in the tnsnames.ora file.
  • If the backend database is DB2, the DB2 client version 9.1.0.356 needs to be installed on the server from which the codeless extractions scripts are run.

Create a connection as follows:

  1. On the Connections page, click New to display a list of ERP applications. Click PeopleSoft to display the PeopleSoft: New Connection page.
  2. Provide a user defined connection name. This is the name used to refer to this connection while scheduling an extraction.
  3. Provide description for this connection.
  4. Provide the user name and password to create a connection and later to extract data.
  5. From the Provider drop-down list, select the provider, depending on the back end database.
  6. Provide the name of the server.
Note: If the wrong server name is provided, or the text box is blank, the following scenarios may arise:
    • If the backend database is SQL, Infor Risk & Compliance validates the server name and display an error message.
    • If the backend database is Oracle, Infor Risk & Compliance creates a connection without validating the server name in the text box.
    • If the backend database is DB2, Infor Risk & Compliance creates a connection without validating the server name in the text box.
  7. Provide the name of the data source or host.
    • If the provider is SQL, the database name is Data Source.
    • If the provider is Oracle, the database name is TNS Alias.
    • If the provider is DB2, the database name is Data Source.
  8. From the Base Language for PeopleSoft drop-down list, select the base language of the PeopleSoft ERP database installed at the server end.
  9. From the Language drop-down list, select the connection language. Data is extracted in the selected language.
Note: The supported languages are English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Canadian French.
  10. Selecting the User ID Policies check box enables you to define the combination of characters that should be used to specify the User ID for the users created for this connection through a PeopleSoft HR User Creation What-if, PeopleSoft FI User Creation What-if, a PeopleSoft HR User Creation Request, or a PeopleSoft FI User Creation Request. Clear this check box if you do not wish to define the user ID policies. By default, the check box is selected.
    Note:
    • If the combination of characters for the user ID is defined, the User ID specified in the New User ID field while creating an User Creation What-if or a User Creation Request for PeopleSoft HR and PeopleSoft FI must follow the same combination of characters that is defined here.
    • If the combination of characters for the user ID is not defined, the User ID may be specified as required by the creator of the request or What-if and will be retained as it is typed.
    • If the Platform is upgraded from a previous version, this page for the connection created in the previous  version displays  the check box User ID Policies and the following conditions for the user ID as selected.
    • The User ID Type drop-down list displays the option UPPER CASE.
    • The Minimum User ID length text box displays, 1, which means the minimum length of the user ID must be 1 character.
    • The Maximum User ID length text box displays 12, which means the maximum length of the user ID must be 12 characters.
  11. For write back, provide the user name and password of the web server.
Note: The web server credentials are not validated by Infor Risk & Compliance. If wrong credentials are provided, write back will not be successful.
  12. Select whether data from this connection should be secured.
  13. Select whether users extracted from this connection should be mapped:
    • Select Map Connection Users (Participation in Cross Connection Analysis) to map users extracted from the connection to a single Infor Risk & Compliance profile.
    • Select Do not map Connection Users (No Participation in Cross Connection Analysis) to create independent user profiles.
  14. Click Save. The new connection is now visible on the PeopleSoft panel on the Connections page. Once a connection is created, you can schedule an extraction for it.
