Apply filters to scope exceptions

By default, this page displays exceptions of all rule books and rules owned by you (the signed in user).

Filters can help you to scope down the exceptions so that you view only those exceptions that you require. Once you select your filters you can save them and reuse them at a later date.

Select filters as follows:

  1. Click the Expand icon to expand the Filters panel.
  2. Select the filters listed below.
  3. Click Show Results. The details of the exceptions are displayed on the lower panel.
    • Filter Name

      Provide a name to identify the filter. This is the name by which you can identify the filters on the Saved Filters tab when you wish to reapply.

    • Select one of the following options to scope analyses:
      • All Analyses: By default, results of all analyses are displayed on the Exceptions page.
      • Preceding: Use this option to select any preceding analysis filtered by the unit(time period). For example, if you select the Unit as Minutes and the Number of Units as 10, then the analysis that was performed 10 minutes ago is considered.
      • Custom Date Range: Use this option to select the analyses performed in a specific time period. To use this option, you must specify the start date and time and the end date and time. All analyses performed in the specified period is considered.
    • Analysis

      The Analysis drop-down list displays all the successfully completed Process Insight analyses as well as the partially completed analyses.  The date and time displayed next to the analysis name is according to the time zone defined on the Preferences page.

      From the drop-down list, select a specific analysis to scope the exceptions generated for this analysis.

      Note: Failed analyses and zero exception analyses are not listed in the drop-down list.
    • Display

      From the drop-down list, select one of the following options to scope exceptions:

      • All: Select this option to view exceptions across all available connections.
      • Analyze cross connection exceptions: Select this option to view exceptions from cross connections.
      • Analyze exceptions from specific connections: Select this option to view exceptions from a specific selected connection.
    • Insight

      The Insight drop-down list displays all the installed Process Insights. From the drop-down list, select a specific Insight to scope the exceptions generated.

    • Rule Priority

      By default, results of all rules are displayed. Apply this filter to focus on particular rule priority results. The priority is an attribute of the rule that is configured during rule design. From the drop-down list, select the required rule priority. Exceptions will be displayed for rules with the selected priority.

    • Connection

      By default all connections are selected. To select specific connections, from the drop-down list, clear the Connections check box. Type the connection name in the text box. Alternately, click the Browse icon to select connection names to view the exceptions generated for data extracted from the specified connections. You can select more than one connection.

    • Rule Books
      By default, exceptions will be displayed for all rule books that you have access to. Select specific rule books as follows:
      1. Clear the All check box.
      2. Type in a part of the rule book name in the autosuggest text box. All rule book names matching the search criteria will be displayed. Select the required rule book name. Alternatively, click the Browse icon and select the desired rule book name and click OK. The selected rule book appears in the Rule Book field.
    • Rules
      By default, exceptions will be displayed for all rules you have access to. To select specific rules:
      1. Clear the All check box.
      2. Type in a part of the rule name in the autosuggest text box. All rule names matching the search criteria will be displayed. Select the required rule name. Alternatively, click the Browse icon and select the desired rule name and click OK. The selected rule appears in the Rule field.
    • Parameter Lists

      If the rules in the selected rule books use parameters in the rule conditions, you need to attach the parameter list containing the parameters.

      Note: The parameter list can be attached only if the signed in user is a parameter list owner.
      By default, all parameter lists are selected. To select specific parameter lists:
      1. Clear the All selection.
      2. Type in a part of the parameter list name in the autosuggest text box. All parameter lists names matching the search criteria will be displayed. Select the required name. Alternatively, click the Browse icon and select the desired parameter lists name and click OK. The selected parameter list appears in the Parameter List field.
    • Mitigation Status

      From the drop-down list, select a mitigation status to view exceptions with this specific status. By default, Active is selected which will display both Open exceptions as well as those Under Review. Use this filter to focus on the following exceptions:

      • Active Exceptions : Open exceptions and exceptions under review are grouped under this type of exception.
      • Open Exceptions : These are exceptions that have not been assigned and need attention.
      • Under Review Exceptions:These are exceptions that are assigned but are not closed or are partially closed.
      • Closed Exceptions : When rules are deleted, all the exceptions generated from analyses of these rules are closed.
    • Reviewer

      This filter is displayed only if the mitigation status Under Review is selected. This filter enables you to view exceptions assigned to specific reviewers. Type the reviewer name or click the Browse icon to display the Browse Owner(s) list. Select the required reviewer and click OK.

    • Urgent

      This drop-down list enables you to view only urgent or only non-urgent exceptions. This filter helps you to scope down results and is dependent on the mitigation status selected. If the mitigation status selected is Open or Closed, the Urgent filter will not be displayed.

    • Keywords
      The keyword filter enables you to view exceptions generated by rules tagged with the selected keywords. Keywords are associated with rules and parameter lists and are used at the time of analysis. By default, all keywords participating in the selected analysis will be selected . To select specific keywords:
      1. Clear the All checkbox.
      2. Type in a part of the keyword name in the autosuggest text box. All keyword names matching the search criteria will be displayed. Select the required keyword name. Alternatively, click the Browse icon and select the desired keyword name and click OK. The selected keyword appears in the Keywords field. All the rules that have generated exceptions and tagged with the selected keywords are displayed.

    The following four options work together and enable you to scope the results based on the objects that were analyzed. These options must be configured properly to display results.

    • Object Type

      This field displays primary violating objects generating exceptions in the analysis selected. From the drop-down list, select an object to view the exceptions generated.

    • Attribute

      This filter displays all attributes for the selected object. From the drop-down list, select the required attribute.

    • Operator

      Depending on the attribute selected, select the appropriate operator to compare the selected attribute with a defined value.

      For example:
      • If you select the attribute Customer Name for the object type Customer, select operators such as Equals, Contains or Starts With.
      • If you select the attribute Net Value for the object type Billing, select operators such as Less Than, Greater  Than or Equals.
    • Value

      Provide a value in the text box. Exceptions that satisfy the specified condition of the object, attribute and value are displayed when you click the Show Results button.

      Note: If the attribute is a date, the values provided in the free text box must be in one of the following formats:
      • yyyy-mm-dd
      • yyyy/mm/dd
      • Jan 18 2000
      • 18 Jan 2000

      If the attribute requires BLANK as a value, the text box should be kept empty.

  4. Click Save Filters to re-use the selected filter parameters at a later date or click Reset Filters to set all the filter options to the default values. The Save Filters tab displays the list of saved filters.
