Assign exceptions

If you (the signed-in user) are a Infor Risk & Compliance Administrator or a Business Process Owner for the rule for which exceptions have been reported, you can use this functionality to either take ownership of the exceptions or assign these exceptions to another user. The user to whom you assign the exceptions should be any of the following:

  • An Infor Risk & Compliance Administrator
  • A Business Process Owner for the rule
  • A Rule Owner

Alternatively, the user should be assigned a custom role containing the permissions to take action on the exceptions.

When you assign exceptions, the user is notified by email and will be able to take action on the exceptions through the notification email or by signing in into Infor Risk & Compliance.

Note: If the user is assigned a custom role that does not have the permissions to close exceptions, the user will not be able to close the exceptions through Infor Risk & Compliance. But being the owner of the rule, the user can close the exceptions through the notification email .

Assign an exception as follows:

  1. Select the exception to be assigned. You can select one or more exceptions to be assigned in a single action.
  2. Click the Assign To icon. A dialog box is displayed.
  3. From the Assign to drop-down list, select the user to whom the exception is to be assigned. The user will be notified by email when exceptions are assigned.
  4. Select Colleagues to notify about the exception status. Select the check box ALL to select all Ming.leTM colleagues or click the Browse icon to select specific colleagues. Alternatively, you can use the autosuggest text box to select colleagues. All the selected colleagues will be notified about the exception status on their Ming.leTM Feed page. This field is displayed only if you are using Infor Ming.leTM Enterprise.
  5. Select Groups to notify about the exception status. Select the check box ALL to select all Ming.leTM groups or click the Browse icon to select specific groups. Alternatively, you can use the autosuggest text box to select groups. All the selected groups will be notified about the exception status on their Ming.leTM Feed page. This field is displayed only if you are using Infor Ming.leTM Enterprise.
  6. To mark the assignment as urgent, select the check box Mark as Urgent. Emails sent to the users to whom the violation is assigned to will also be marked as urgent.
  7. In the Comment field, provide the reason for the assignment.
  8. Click Save. The exception is assigned to the selected user who will be informed of the assignment by email. The exceptions status changes from Open to Under Review.
Note: The status of an assigned exception will change from Under Review to Open in the following scenarios:
    • If a user who is assigned an exception is removed
    • If a user's access rights to a rule book are removed
    • If a user's access rights to a connection are removed

The date and time displayed in this dialog box is according to the local time zone defined on the Preferences page.
