Functional Areas for Emergency Access

You can use functional areas to define the roles/responsibilities that can be self assigned through Emergency Access Requests. For details, refer to the section Creating a functional area for emergency access.

If a role/responsibility has to be allowed for self assignment through an emergency access request, you have to first add it to a functional area. Roles/responsibilities that are not added to functional areas are not available for selection while creating an emergency access request.

The steps below briefly describe the process of creating functional areas for emergency access:

  1. Create Role/responsibility functional area variable. For details, refer to the topic Functional Area Variable.
  2. Create a functional area and add scope (Sub Functional Area) to it. For details, refer to the section Creating a functional area.
    • Associate a functional area variable to the scope. For example, for Role Name associate the variable Role.
    • Give the scope the required specific value. For example, select the value as role A_ALL.
    • Select the Applies to Emergency Access Requests check box.

While creating an Emergency Access Request, the roles/responsibilities that are associated to emergency access functional areas are available for self assignment.

Note: Emergency Access requests are not supported for Access Manager for Lawson and Access Manager for Infor.
