Thumbnail behavior with IDM virus scanning

IDM virus scanning is a tenant-level feature. The feature automatically scans user-uploaded files for viruses. A Cloud Service Portal (CSP) administrator enables virus scanning at the IDM service level. When enabled, IDM scans files before making them available for display.

System-generated files are trusted sources and are not scanned. The files you upload through the API, SDK, UI, or RI widget are scanned.

When you upload an image and virus scanning is in progress, the original document is not visible. A "virus scan in progress" placeholder image is displayed. The file's mimetype is temporarily changed to .png until scanning completes.

When IDM detects a virus in the uploaded file, the original image is not shown. A "virus found" placeholder image is displayed in PLM for Fashion.

IDM handles the infected file according to its quarantine process.

When virus scanning completes and no virus is detected, the original document is displayed. The file's mimetype reverts to its original format. PLM for Fashion shows the final generated thumbnail from IDM.
