Line planning
Merchandisers and Designers are under constant pressure to balance creativity with commercial reality. They work to ensure that the collection fits the financial targets, channel requirements, and option counts to which the business has committed.
Historically, that balancing act occurred in spreadsheets, which meant the plan was always a snapshot.
The line planning module enables merchandisers to set targets for product lines. Targets include retail value, planned total quantities, and product KPIs such as the number of options, styles, and carryovers for the line.
As you develop the plan, you can see the developed styles and options, such as colorways. You can compare the value and quantities to the plan and review the products. In this way, you get a line plan that is a better fit for the market. The line plan module can replace, for example, disconnected spreadsheet processes by consolidating all information in one place.
The line plan module streamlines the planning and design processes and reduces errors from outdated planning information.
- Generate lines in a line plan for 1-6 level of the product hierarchy.
- Configure the line plan columns, for example, the planned number of options, the number of options, and the field for notes. You can erase the number for products with certain statuses so the products are included in accumulations.
- Show columns with predefined content, such as the number of styles, the number of options, and the total retail value.
- Show the styles for each line in a contextual pane beside the line plan.
- Drill down to styles in different views, such as list, card, and style color.
