Every collection begins with source material. Source material can include a trade fair photo, a fabric swatch photographed from a market, and a trend mood board from several sources. Before PLM for Fashion, design references were stored in email attachments and personal folders. These references were separate from the related products.

The PLM for Fashion Document Library stores this source material in the same system as product data.

After a trade fair, a designer can upload 100 photos in one action and assign the same field values to them. Trend researchers can mark preferred images with a like. The team can then identify preferred images. Suppliers can upload collection references directly to the shared space.

Because this content is stored with product data, inspiration is part of the design process. This content can inform design decisions directly.

The configurable document types within PLM for Fashions Document Library can store your mood boards, photos of shopping samples, ideas from the Internet, ideas from your supplier, and so on.

The PLM for Fashion Document library can define 10 user-defined document types that can be used for the above purposes.

The document types can be used with specific fields unique for that type of document or inspiration. The PLM document library contains these features:

  • Mass upload of images and field values (generic for all those images that you upload in one go) for instance, if you are at a trade fair

  • Configurable card view

  • Configurable list or detailed view including specific extended fields for Document Library

  • Ability for suppliers to upload items

  • “Like” this image functionality and contextual pane to see who likes the document

  • Permissions for each document type and the “Like” function

  • Sort by, Group by, and Filter

  • Safari and Android-certified

Another alternative is using the Infor Document Library solution, which enables you to upload images image-by-image through the IDM App.
