Configuring IDM settings

IDM is the main storage location for documents and images for the Adobe Illustrator plugin and PLM for Fashion. Set up IDM to select and synchronize custom document types and other files that you use in the PLM for Fashion application.

To manage the document types that each role can view and save, set up Role permissions for Document Library.

These system-defined document types are excluded from the selection:

  • FPLM Document
  • FPLM Color
  • FPLM Reports
  • FPLM Report Template
  1. Select Setup > Settings.
  2. Select IDM.
  3. In the Reports section, specify the number of days to keep the generated reports.
  4. In the Filename Settings section, select the filename settings. Additionally, specify the sequence of labels for these filenames: Module, Name, Number, and Tab.
    You can select these options:
    • Do not upload files with duplicate filenames: Files that have duplicate file names are not uploaded.
    • Enable use of filename generator for duplicate filenames: Filenames of duplicate files are renamed based on the sequence of labels that you select. The generated filename includes the module, tab, number, and label in the selected sequence. If you select this option, you can assign a sequence number to a label to configure the sequence of labels in the generated filename. For example, if you set 1 to Module, 2 to Tab, 3 to Number, and 4 to Name, a generated filename can be Style_Care_ST001_Name.jpg.
  5. In the IDM Document Types section, select the document types.
    Note: You can set a maximum of 10 document types.
  6. In the Filename Format for Generated Reports section, select the Enable custom name format for generated reports check box.

    When you enable this option, you can customize the filenames for generated Style reports. This setting does not apply to the generation of Material reports or Trim reports.

    You can customize the name of the report with these components:

    • Style Number
    • Style Name
    • Style Description
    • Supplier Name
    • Module Name
    • Report Template Name
      Note: When you generate a report from a Report Favorite, the Report Favorite Name is used as the Report Template Name. This name is used for all files produced from that favorite.

  7. Optionally, customize the generated report names:
    1. In the Sequence column, select the order on which the report details are displayed.
    2. In the Include column, select to show the specific detail in the generated report.
  8. In the File Upload Size Limit section, specify the maximum file upload size for the application.
    Note: You can set a maximum file size of 2,048 MB. Additionally, this setting does not apply to files that you upload through the Adobe Illustrator plugin.
  9. Click Save.
