Configuring grid editing settings

You can set up what fields are modifiable in the Style grid.

Note: Due to performance limitations, business rules are not supported in the editable grid. If a specified value in the editable grid does not comply with a business rule, validation occurs only when you open the style in the Overview page and save the record.

Additionally, a tooltip is displayed for the Editable Field column on the Style List page, which reflects the same clarification about business rule enforcement.

Consider these behaviors and limitations:
  • While editing in the grid, other cells within the same style row remain locked until the current value is successfully saved to prevent concurrency issues.
  • In multi-select Generic Lookup (GL) fields, previously selected inactive values remain visible but do not show as not available. This behavior is a known technical limitation that is not present in single-select fields.
  • In Style Overview Extended fields, you can select up to 15 extended fields. You can use the text, number, drop-down, date, and check box field types.
  • If a drop-down extended field is configured as multi-select in custom views and grid editing is enabled, you must configure the extended field as multi-select in both the List and Details custom views.
  1. Select Setup > Settings.
  2. Click Grid Editing.
  3. On the Choose from below which fields you want to be editable in the grid section, specify this information:
