Monitoring critical paths

You can monitor procurement task progress for each purchase order at the style-color level. You can specify actual completion dates, view task status updates based on differences between planned dates and actual dates, and report quantities. Additionally, visual alerts highlight tasks or purchase orders at risk of delay, enabling timely corrective action.

Before using Critical Path Monitoring, you must ensure that:

  • The Critical Path Monitoring Other Action in Request is selected for internal and partner users.

See the Infor PLM for Fashion Administration Guide.

  • A critical path with the For Purchase Order type exists.

    See Creating critical paths.

  • The critical path record is selected in the Critical Path field when you create a new Request for Purchase Order. You must also send the request to partner users to enable them to view the critical path.

    See Creating requests.

  1. Select Basics > Request.
  2. On the Request List page, select a request for purchase order record. You can select multiple purchase order requests.
  3. Click Critical Path Monitoring.
  4. For each style color and task on the critical path, specify this information:
    Planned Date
Specify the planned completion date for the task. Internal users can specify this field. Partner users have read-only access. The default value is computed from the Due Date field in the Item Mix grid on Request for Purchase Order.
    Actual Date
Specify the actual completion date for the task.

The Request ID shows the request ID of the source item mix line.

The Request No shows the request number of the source item mix line.

The Style shows the style number of the style for which the request for purchase order was created.

The Name field shows field shows the name of the style for which the request for purchase order was created.

The Status field shows the current status of the request.

The Quantity on Order field shows the total quantity on order for the style color.
Note: The value of the Quantity on Order field is the sum of the total units across all item mix lines for the style color. For example, if eight item mix lines contain three lines for red, three lines for blue, and two lines for yellow, the quantity on order for red is the sum of the total units across the three red lines. The blue and yellow lines are excluded from the quantity on order for red.

The Quantity Reported field shows the quantity reported for the latest completed quantity monitoring task.

The Due Date field shows the due date specified in the request for purchase order.

  5. For each task with quantity monitoring on the critical path, add a quantity value:
    1. Select the Quantity field.
    2. On the Quantity Detail Screen window, specify the actual date and quantity to include in the task.
    3. Optionally, click Add New Row to add a new date and quantity row.
    4. Click Save.
Note: The quantity value for a task cannot exceed the quantity value of the preceding task in the critical path. However, the total quantity of a task can exceed the total quantity on order.
  6. Optionally, select the Completed check box to disable editing on all task fields. This check box is read-only for partner users.
