Assigning a user as IDM background service account

To prevent congesting the Infor Document Management background service when synchronizing a large volume of documents from IDM to PLM for Fashion, you can create and assign a dedicated PLM for Fashion user account for the IDM background service.

The account to assign to the IDM background service should have at least one of these IDM security roles:

  • IDM-Administrator
  • IDM-AdvancedUser
  • IDM-RelatedInformationUser
  • IDM-SuperUser
  • IDM-User
Note: You can also set a user account as the IDM background service account if the user account has an Infor-SystemAdministrator security role.

Create a dedicated PLM for Fashion user account to assign to as the IDM background service account. You must have an Administrator role when you assign an IDM background service account.

  1. Select Admin > Manage Users.
Note: The IDM Service account field shows the PLM for Fashion user who is currently assigned as the IDM Background Service Account.
  2. Right-click on a user account, then select Set As IDM Background Service Account.
