Requests for samples, quotes, labdips, and tests
Using Infor PLM for Fashion, you can request samples, labdips, performance tests, purchase orders, and quotes from a supplier. You can use a request for samples process. The request process enables you to formally see when you send a request, to whom, what information is send, when things are due, and helps you organize the process in a structured way.
The content for a request is as much as possible automated so that you do not waste time on adding information before sending it to a partner or supplier.

A request is always made by a product and a supplier. All requests work in a similar way. Information added to a style, material, or trim are automatically picked up when generating the request.
The request purpose is a controlled way of sending information to a supplier and it is a way of tracking the request progress. It also automates the creation of emails to suppliers, including tech pack sending, if there is no system supplier. A style tech pack and type of tech pack are proposed, style attachments and style images are proposed, and added to the request email automatically. Compared to email, the request helps see what is sent by whom and what is associated to that mail without all that information sitting in the email boxes of users.
Request for samples
You can send a request for samples, combined with sending a tech pack to a partner. The request inherits information from the style.
If a style includes a measurement page, an apparel item typically has one, while a discrete item may not have one. The sample page is automatically generated after you send the request. You can add comments to the sample page or the request.
See Styles.
With the request template, you can automatically define which next request for sample is created. If you reject the request, a next iteration of the same sample is generated. If you approve the request, the next request is picked up automatically. For example, proto1 - fitting - salesman - preproduction.
Request for style cost quotations
You can send a request for quotation, combined with sending a tech pack. The quotation information shows the cost elements that the supplier must provide.
-
The FOB price.
-
A sectionized price, such as a total price for fabrics, trims, operations, and others.
-
A BOM-level request for costing. A snapshot of the BOM is added to the request. The supplier can add price information, delete lines, and even can add lines for costing purpose. The prices to the cost elements are rolled up for automatic transfer to the style costing page.
A system partner, which is a supplier in the system, can enter the requested values in the request and this flows automatically to the style costing page. For non-system partners, the buying company enters the values manually in the request.
Request for material labdips
You can send a request for material labdips, like any other requests. You can add labdips, dates, and other information to the labdip request and show at material color level.
Request for performance tests
Product compliance is important, and with Infor PLM for Fashion you can set up tests and standard performance tests. You can request a performance test for style, material, and trim. Partners can specify the values for the test in the request. Partners can also add performance information manually without a request. After the registration of the results is done, the tests that did not meet the criteria are displayed.
Request for purchase order
You can create a purchase by submitting a request for purchase order. The purchase order includes a predefined template that contains a summary and details for all lines, whether the lines are loose pieces, packs, or prepacks such as assortments. The partners in partner collaboration can acknowledge the purchase order.
