Auto-Sync Main Supplier behaviors

The behavior of the Auto-Sync Main Supplier feature depends on its status and the status of the Currency, Purchase Price, and Qty UoM settings in BOM Details Update.

Consider these different scenarios and their expected outcomes:
  • If Auto Sync Main Supplier is enabled while Currency, Purchase Price, and Qty UoM are disabled in the BOM Details Update settings, the expected behavior results to this option:

    • When the main supplier is changed in the library record, the supplier in the BOM line should also be updated, while the Currency, Purchase Price, and Qty UoM fields should remain unchanged.

    • If the Supplier Currency, Purchase Price, or Qty UoM in the library record is changed, the BOM line should remain unchanged, regardless of whether the assigned supplier matches.

  • If Auto Sync Main Supplier is enabled while Currency, Purchase Price, and Qty UoM are enabled in the BOM Details Update settings, the expected behavior results to this option:

    • When the main supplier is changed in the library record, the Supplier, Currency, Purchase Price, and Qty UoM in the BOM line should also be updated.

    • If the Supplier's Currency, Purchase Price, or Qty UoM in the library record is changed, the BOM line should be updated only if the same supplier is assigned to it. Otherwise, no change is expected in the BOM line.

  • If Auto Sync Main Supplier is disabled while Currency, Purchase Price, and Qty UoM are enabled in the BOM Details Update settings, the expected behavior results to this option:

    • When the main supplier is changed in the library record, the Supplier, Currency, Purchase Price, and Qty UoM in the BOM line should remain unchanged.

    • If the Supplier's Currency, Purchase Price, or Qty UoM in the library record is changed, the BOM line should be updated only if the same supplier is assigned to it. Otherwise, no change is expected in the BOM line.

  • If Auto Sync Main Supplier is disabled while Currency, Purchase Price, and Qty UoM are disabled in the BOM Details Update settings, the expected behavior results to this option:
    • The BOM line should not be updated, regardless of any changes in the library record.
For additional impact, if BOM Line Geocode is enabled, the above scenarios still apply, with these additional conditions:

  • BOM updates only occur if the Main Supplier’s geocode is blank or matches the BOM header’s geocode.

  • If the geocodes do not match, no updates are applied.

This feature ensures greater accuracy and efficiency in managing supplier information within BOM.
