Customizing document library items displayed in card view

Card View option is available to all document types. When you switch to a different document type while on Card View, the Card View setup is still applied to the selected document type.

The multi-select option is only applicable when you are on List View. When viewing style records in Card View, the multi-select option is unavailable.

Available fields for customization of card is always dependent on what fields have been selected from the list view layout in Manage Views.

  1. From a document library type setup, click the Card View icon.
    The upper part section of the card shows the image while the bottom part shows up to 5 field values.
  2. To organize the group and order of items, select the filter values from the Document Library toolbar.
    The group filters will depend on the selected document type and fields available in the list layout.
  3. When grouping the card into sections, a visual cue is displayed on which fields are used for grouping.
  4. To view the blow-up image of the item, hover on the card thumbnails.
  5. To view the item's complete field details, hover to the tooltips of the card fields.
  6. Click the card once to select the record. Selected record will be the basis of the where used pane.
  7. Double click the card to open the record details page.
  8. Right click on the card to select from the Edit and Delete options. Selected record can also be deleted using the Delete button from the toolbar.​
