Executing the query

Before you execute the query, make sure to set an active filter first.

  1. Open a flex query view.
When you open a flex query view, the default advanced filter, with the selection criteria and search values, for the record is displayed. You can change the search values for the selected advanced filter, or you can select another advanced filter and change search values for that filter. You cannot save the selected advanced filter and search values in this section.

For search criteria that searches for text fields using the Contains condition, you can search for records whose text field is blank or not blank by specifying <Blank> or <Not Blank> (not case sensitive), respectively, as the value of Search Value. For date fields, you can search for blank and not blank values by selecting Blank or Not Blank.

For search criteria that searches for multi-select fields, you can use the Equal, Not Equal, or Includes search conditions. The query, though, may return records that contain the searched value. For example, the available generic lookup values for the Style Colorways Channel field are Store and Store Category A. If your search value is Store, then the query returns any style record whose Style Colorways Channel field value is set to Store Category A.

Note: For these multi-select field, you can only use the Contains condition:
    • Style Overview
      • Deliveries
      • User Defined Fields 8 to 13
      • Market Fields 1 and 2
      • Channel
      • Country
      • Region
    • Style Colorways
      • Deliveries

If the selected advanced filter contains one or more search criteria, you can select criteria that are included or omitted in the query by checking/clearing the Include/Exclude check box. If there are multiple search criteria, at least one criteria must be selected. An error message is displayed if you attempt to clear the lone selected search criteria.

Note: By default, all check boxes are selected. Your selection of included/excluded criteria are not saved in the database; when you re-open the flex query view, all check boxes are selected.

If your role has the View permission for flex query view, you can use this section. If the role has the Advanced Filter is not selected in the Other Actions section of the Flex Query View entity, the Advanced Filter icon is not displayed in the query result grid toolbar.

To create or update an existing advanced filter, click the Advanced Filter icon.

    See Adding a filter.

Note: Every time you open a flex query view, you must execute the query first before you can view the results of the flex query view query.

Whenever you log on to the application or you refresh your browser while logged on in the application, there is a slight delay in the response time when opening an flex query view record. The delay is caused by generic lookup values being loaded when the first flex query view record is opened. Subsequent records should load faster.

  2. Click the Execute icon.
If the Search Value field in the Advanced Filter section is empty, the query is not run. You must specify a value in this field.
    Note:
    • By default, the Style Number column is added to the grid as this is the primary information that joins the different style fields.

The result set is automatically grouped based on style number since the query may return multiple lines per style number. You can manually remove the grouping.

    • Radio buttons and check boxes show Yes (if the check box or radio button is selected) or No (if the check box or radio button is not selected) values in queries.
    • In query results, the values for multi-select fields are displayed in a single cell in a row, separated by commas.
    • While these Style BOM fields display the generic lookup values depending on the component type (style, material, or trim), the search values in the advanced filter display all the generic lookup values from all three component types:
      • User Defined Field 12
      • User Defined Field 13
    • Data from Style Overview Quantity and Style Colorways Quantity fields are rounded off to whole numbers in the flex query view results grid. When you export the values of these fields to Excel, the actual decimal values are included.
    • The values for all number-type columns are justified to the right in the flex query view results grid. If they do not appear right justified, click Refresh or press Alt+R.
    • The query execution time depends on the complexity of your query. The execution time is affected by how many columns are included in the query and if columns are derived from different information clusters.
