User experience
The application supports users that prefer a more graphical approach or a more list-type approach. The application works with standard list or detailed views from which you can make your own company role-based views showing basic data, products, and other information presented in a list format, or card view, and detailed information stored in one or more clusters (comparable to tabs).
These generic features are on most standard list views:
- Elastic Search
- Filters (typically drop down lists)
- Advanced filters (with the ability to select dates, text fields, drop down lists, and store the selection so that it can be reused)
- Sort by
- Freeze column (so that it is easier to scroll to the right and certain columns remain on the left)
- Export to Excel (you can export thousands of records in the flex query view)
- Group information into clusters
List views
List views are views showing rows for one or more items in the requested function. The system comes with default list views also referred to as grid views. In Admin Views, you can make views for each role, for example, removing fields or adding fields that are not visible in the default view. Aside of the standard list view functions, there are special features when opening a list view.
Special features for list views include these functions:
- Ability to personalize and save views
- Ability to edit the list view (Styles) for certain fields
- Ability to export all items (in selected grids with a maximum of the indicated number of rows on the grid)
- In certain programs, the export all (rows) to Excel is enabled
Detailed views
A detailed view is reached by selecting an item on a list view. The system comes with default detailed views. In Admin Views, you can make views per role, for example, removing or adding fields (extended fields) that are not visible in the default view.
Card views
A card view is a graphical representation of information. Card views are available for style, material, trim, color library, style, material, trim colorways, and PLM Document Library.
For style colorways card view, styles are shown by colors. In this view, you can view a group by feature, allowing you to check styles by different entities such as theme, brand, division, or collection.
Card views contain a standard format except for PLM Document Library where card view is configurable.
Contextual panes
Use the contextual panes to show data in context of a listed item. The sample application of this pane represents the supplier information, colors, sizes, images, tasks, relations (carry-over information), and where an item is used. Contextual panes are very often displayed in list format and cannot be configured. Most Contextual panes in list format can store your favorite layouts.
Action panes (browse)
Action panes act as a browse capability and show a list of items that you can search for and select (one or many) by dragging or dropping items to a detailed view. Action panes are currently a mixture of static list views and configurable list views.
Data access
For Style, Material, Trim, Request, and Flex Query View, the information on a list is filtered in these access types:
- Organization access - data is filtered based on the access related to a level in the hierarchy
- Partners (suppliers) - data is filtered based on shared products. Data sharing is done manually or automatically when a request is sent to a system partner
