How user administration works

Users of PLM for Fashion must be created in Infor OS Portal through Security management. Every time a user is created in Infor OS Portal, the user is created in PLM for Fashion with the user ID and password that is specified in Infor OS Portal. The security role that is assigned to the user in Infor OS Portal determines the primary role and permissions that the user has in PLM for Fashion.

A user is created in PLM for Fashion application only when that specific user is given a PLM-related role.

When an Infor representative creates a user or role in IFS, a Sync SecurityUserMaster or SecurityRoleMaster BOD is created and subscribed by the application. All users and roles are sent to and stored in the application database.

You cannot create users for PLM for Fashion through this method. Only Infor representatives or the tenant administrator can create users in Infor OS Portal.

An Infor system administrator, created by Infor representatives in Infor OS Portal, serves as the initial user of the application. This user is then mapped to the system-defined application administrator that is responsible for user management and customization in the application. The application administrator can do these tasks in PLM for Fashion:

  • Manage versions.
  • Manage users, that is, update user information in the application.
  • Define user permissions.
  • Create roles.
  • Create user groups.
  • Define user views.
  • Manage personalization for user-level personalizations.

When an application administrator modifies user information through the Admin Service module of the application, a Process SecurityUserMaster or SecurityRoleMaster BOD is created and sent to ION. From ION, these BODs are sent to IFS and the information is then synchronized in Infor OS Portal. When an Infor representative creates a user or role in security management, a Sync SecurityUserMaster or SecurityRoleMaster BOD is created and subscribed by the application. All users and roles are sent to and stored in the application database.
