Sync documents in IDM and IPLMF application

From Infor Document Management, you can create the document types to use in the IPLMF application. You can also upload and create documents within each document type. To reflect the customized document types and documents in the IPLMF application, a migration process must be established.

Syncing document types and documents consider these instances:
  • When you create a new IDM document type and then add documents within it through Infor Document Management.
  • If you have existing IDM document types that also include existing documents.

In these conditions, when you enable the document types in the IPLMF settings for the first time, the application automatically triggers a synchronization task in the background.

The migration process takes place so that all the existing documents in each IDM document type shows in the IPLMF Document Library. The time it takes for the task to complete depends on the quantity of documents included on each existing custom document type.

To ensure that the syncing process takes place, you must enable the Publish to ION Configuration setup for each custom document type from the Document Management component. When the ION configuration is not setup, the new documents uploaded in IDM will not reflect within the IPFLM application. However, uploading the documents through the IPLMF application reflects the updates to both IDM and Document Library.
