  1. Select Basics > Styles.
  2. Right-click a style that you want to create a variant of and select Copy / Variant.
Alternatively, you can also click the Copy/Variant (Alt+C) icon.

Depending on your permissions, you may see one or both of the options. If you cannot see the option that you require, contact your administrator or see the Infor PLM for Fashion Administration Guide.

  3. From the create options, select Variant.
  4. Under the Information to Copy section, specify this information:
    Copy data from
This field shows the reference data where the new record is based from.
    Load Template

Select an applicable saved template from the drop-down list. The saved details from the template is applied to the copied style.

    See Managing templates.

  5. To set or assign specific details for each info cluster, go to Details column and click their corresponding Select icon.
  6. Under the Set Values section, specify this information:
    Number
    Specify a style number.

If the ID generator is set up for the Style module and you do not specify a number, the ID generator automatically generates the number based on the next number in the series.

If the ID generator is not set up, you must specify a number. The application validates this field when you click Execute.

When the setting to increment number on variants is enabled, duplicate variant style numbers are allowed as long as they have different seasons. The new variant will not be saved if another record has the same number and season as the variant to be saved.

If this setting is disabled, when you save the new variant, the number is checked if it is already assigned to another style, or when you update a variant, its number is checked if the number is the same with an existing record. The record is not saved if the number is the same with another record.

    Name
Specify the name of the style variant.

By default, the name of the variant is the name of the style prefixed with the phrase "Variant of-".

Note: Translations are not copied when there are changes on the Name field. Additionally, the prefix "Copy of or Variant" of is not added to existing translations that are copied.
  7. Select information clusters whose contents will be copied for this variant.
By default, all information clusters are selected. You can clear items that you do not need.

Click the Select/Unselect All Clusters icon to unselect all clusters, and select what clusters you want to copy. Click the same icon to select all clusters.

Note: If enabled in the settings:
    • Inactive colors are not copied.
    • The style colorways cluster cannot be selected and the colors of the source record are not copied to the created variant.

Contact your administrator or see the Infor PLM for Fashion Administration Guide.

  8. Click Execute.
After the task is executed, the created style variant appears in a new tab.

In the Miscellaneous Information section of the Overview tab, the Variant check box is selected. This field is also shown as a column in the Styles list page, but administrators must add this column in custom layouts.

Use the Style Relations pane to view the relation between source style (parent) and variant (child).
