Creating trims

You can create trims from existing product attributes, such as colors and characteristics. You can also define the financial and ownership information, and add related files, associated to your trim.

Note: 

The value of generic lookup fields is automatically translated to supported languages based on your browser's language setting.

  1. From the menu, select Basics > Trim.
  2. Click New.
  3. Specify main information:
    Note: Some fields may have dependencies to other fields because of how your data hierarchy is defined and how your access to data hierarchy levels is configured. Hover over the Field Dependencies icon for each field to view these dependencies.
    Number
    Specify a trim number. The trim number serves as the identifying code for your trim within the application.

    Optionally, click the Generate ID icon to generate a trim number based on defined ID rules.

    Material Type
    Select the material type of the trim.
    Name
    Specify a name for the trim. If the name generator is set up for trims, this field is read-only.

    The name is generated upon saving.

    The name is updated if the values of the fields that are defined in the name generator setup have changed.

    The value of this field is automatically translated to supported languages based on your browser's language setting.

    Season
    Select a season from the list. Seasons are a generic lookup type and can be defined in Generic Lookup.
    Description
    Provide a description for the trim.

    The value of this field is automatically translated to supported languages based on your browser's language setting.

    Brand
    Select a brand from the list. Brands are a generic lookup type and can be defined in Generic Lookup.
    Status
    Select a status from the list.
    Division
    Select a division from the list. are a generic lookup type and can be defined in Generic Lookup.
    Main Category
    Select a main category from the list. Main categories are a generic lookup type and can be defined in Generic Lookup.

    Quantity UOM
    Select a unit of measurement from the list.
    Category
    Select a category from the list. Categories are a generic lookup type and can be defined in Generic Lookup.
    Deliveries
    Select a delivery method from the list.

    You can define delivery methods in Generic Lookup.

    Category Group
    Select a category group from the list. Category groups are a generic lookup type and can be defined in Generic Lookup.
    ERP Code
    This field displays the ERP code of the trim if the trim record is integrated to the application from an ERP. This field is not editable.
    Operational
    Select whether this trim is active or inactive. Only active trims can be added to other modules like:
    • Style BOM
    • Request
    • Favorites
    • Project
    Note: The Operational field is the same operational field in the Point of Measure component.
  4. To add image to the trim, click the Images icon.
    1. Click Add Images.
      • Click Add local from local files to select an image from your local computer.
      • Click Add from library to select an image from the document library of the application.
    2. Select images and click Add.
  5. Specify miscellaneous information:

    Specify any information in the free field as additional information.

    Specify any information in the free field as additional information.
    Copied From
    This read-only field contains the name and code information of the source record if the trim is created as a copy of another trim.
  6. Specify main partner information and details:
    Set as Main Supplier
    Select this check box to make the partner you select as the main supplier.
    Supplier
    Select a supplier from the list.
    Country
    Select a country of origin.
    Supplier Mill
    Select a mill from the list.
    Supplier Agent
    Select an agent from the list.
  7. Specify colorways.
  8. Specify size range.
  9. Specify additional partner information:
    Sample Minimum Quantity
    Specify the minimum quantity that this partner requires for a sample.
    Sample Min. Qty UOM
    Select a unit of measurement for sample minimum quantity.
    Sample Price
    Specify the price that this partner requires for a sample.
    Sample Price Currency
    Select the currency for the sample price.
    UOM
    Select a unit of measure
    Price UOM
    Select the price for the selected unit of measurement
    Purchase Price
    Specify the purchase price.
    Purchase Price Currency
    Select the currency for the purchase price.
    Minimum Order Quantity

    Specify the minimum quantity that this partner requires for an order.

    You can specify up to six digits on the field.

    Minimum Order Quantity UOM
    Select the unit of measurement for the minimum order quantity.
    Minimum Order Quantity Per Color

    Specify the minimum quantity for each color that this partner requires for an order.

    You can specify up to six digits on the field.

    Minimum Order Quantity Type Per Color UOM
    Specify the minimum quantity for each color that this partner requires for an order.
    Lead Time
    Specify the lead time that this partner requires for orders and samples.
    Lead Time UOM
    Select the unit of measurement for the lead time.
  10. To specify the composition of the trim, specify a value in the percentage field and select a component type from the list. You can define components in Generic Lookup.
    Note: If the total component composition percentage is below 100%, an error message appears when you save the trim record. The total component composition percentage can go beyond 100% but it must be in multiples of 100.
  11. Specify additional information:
    Critical Material
    Select this check box if this material is critical to a trim.
    Chemical Warning
    Select the check box if the trim contains chemicals that require extra care in handling.
    Discrete Item
    Select the check box to mark the trim as a discrete item. You cannot associate trim attributes, such as colors, sizes, and images, to a discrete item.
    Width

    Specify the width by typing a value in the field and select a unit from the list.

    You can define units in Generic Lookup.

    Height

    Specify the height by typing a value in the field and select a unit from the list.

    You can define units in Generic Lookup.

    Length

    Specify the length by typing a value in the field and select a unit from the list.

    You can define units in Generic Lookup.

    Weight

    Specify the weight by typing a value in the field and select a unit from the list.

    You can define units in Generic Lookup.

    Certificate
    Specify a certificate.
    Item Type

    Select an item type.

    You can define item types in Generic Lookup.

    HTS Code
    Select a harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) code from the list.

    You can defined HTS Codes in Generic Lookup.

    Waste %
    Specify the percentage of waste generated when producing the trim.
    Construction

    Select a construction type.

    You can define construction types in Generic Lookup.

    Finish

    Select a trim finish.

    You can define finish types in Generic Lookup.

    Width UOM

    Select a unit from the list.

    You can define units in Generic Lookup.

    Height UOM

    Select a unit from the list.

    You can define units in Generic Lookup.

    Length UOM

    Select a unit from the list.

    You can define units in Generic Lookup.

    Weight UOM

    Select a unit from the list.

    You can define units in Generic Lookup.

    Date Field 1
    Specify a date that is pertinent to the trim.
    Date Field 2
    Specify a date that is pertinent to the trim.
  12. Specify placement of the trim and provide notes about the trim in Placement & Notes section.

    Provide notes for this trim.
    Numeric Value 1
    Specify numeric values that are relevant to the trim.
  13. Specify ownership information and main responsibilities for these roles:
    • Designer
    • Colorist
    • Trim Master
  14. Specify main responsibilities:
    Main Responsible
    Select a user from the list.
    Created By
    This read-only field is filled up with the name of the user who creates this record.

    If this record is created before release 16.0.15, the value of this field is System User.

    Create Date
    Displays the date and time when the trim was created.
    Modified by
    Displays the user profile that last modified the trim.
    Last Modified
    Displays the date when the trim was last modified.
  15. Click Save.
    Note: When you save a new trim, it will take time before other users can access it (if they have access rights to the trim). You can immediately use/view trims that you have created.
