Creating a business rule
- Select Setup > Business Rule.
- Click the New icon.
- Specify this information:
- Name
- Specify a name for this rule.
- Description
- Specify a brief description of this rule.
- Scope
- Select a scope from the list.
- Sub Scope
- Select a subscope from the list.
- Event
- Select an event from the list.
The selected event affects the type of business rule components that you can add.
An event triggers a business rule. Event options include:
- Save - Business rule takes effect when a user saves a record.
- Update - Business rule takes effect when a user creates or updates a record.
- Delete - Business rule takes effect when a user deletes a
record.Note: The Delete event applies to the Style subscope only.
- Version
- Select a version from the list.
- Sequence
- Specify a sequence number.
- Active
- Click to set this rule as active. By default, this field is selected.
