Requests for samples, quotes, labdips, and tests

Using Infor PLM for Fashion, you can request samples, labdips, performance tests, and quotes at a supplier. You can also internally use a request for samples process. The process tracks when the date requests are due, who it is sent to, and what information is sent.

The content for a request is automated so that you have sufficient items to add to the request before sending it to a partner or supplier. The request process is also used for requesting for these items:

  • Style Samples, Sample and Cost

  • Style Cost – Styles Sample & cost, Style Cost – BOM level costing, Style Sample & cost – BOM level costing

  • Performance test - Styles, Materials, or Trims

  • Labdips – Materials

A request is always made by product and supplier. All requests work in a similar way. Information added to a style, material, or trim are automatically picked up when generating the request. A request consists of multiple information.

The request purpose is a controlled way of sending information to a supplier and it is a way of tracking the request progress. It also automates the creation of emails to suppliers, including tech pack sending, if there is no system supplier.

Request for samples

You can send a request for samples, combined with sending a tech pack to a partner. The request inherits information from the style.

In case a style is having a measurement page (for instance an apparel item will have that but maybe a discrete will not have this) the sample page will be automatically generated once you send the request. Comments can be added to the sample page and or to the request – See also Style Measurement.

Request for style cost quotations

You can send a request for quotation, combined with sending a tech pack. Quotation information can be registered and in style costing you can compare different results. A request for cost picks up the required cost elements model associated to the style. The values for those cost elements such as for instance FOB price, or sectioned price (Material, Trim, Packaging, Operations cost) can be entered by the partner if they use partner collaboration, or manually by buying company. The specified values in customer currency are translated according to the style costing page base currency. The result of multiple suppliers can be reviewed and compared in style costing – See also Style Costing.

It is also possible to make a request for quotation in BOM level costing. With this request type, a snapshot of the BOM is made to the request and the supplier can specify on each Cost BOM line the detailed prices. The system rolls up the prices to the cost elements for automatic transfer to the style costing page.

Request for material labdips

You can send a request for material labdips, like any other requests. Labdips, dates, and other information can be added to the labdip request and shown to the user at material color level.

Request for performance tests

Product compliance is important, and with Infor PLM for Fashion you can set up tests and standard performance tests. You can request a performance test for style, material, and trim. Partners can enter the values for the test in the request. It is also possible to add performance information manually without a request. Once the registration of the results is done it is visible to the end user which tests have not met the criteria – see also Style, Material, and Trim Compliance.
