Multi-Axis Chart

Use Multi-Axis Chart widget to plot data series with different value ranges on separate Y-axes in a single chart.

The Multi-Axis Chart widget supports comparison of trends and relationships across multiple metrics in one visualization.

At least two Y-axes are required and always present. You can add up to ten Y-axes.

On the widget, use the toolbar icons to perform available actions.

This table describes each icon and the associated action:

Action Icon Description
Delete Delete Remove the widget and its configuration from the canvas.
Copy Copy Create a copy of the widget, together with its configurations and filters.
Filter Filter Filter the data in the widget. For configuration details, see Filter data in an insight.
Configure Configure Open the Settings tab in the right-side panel.
Move Move Drag and drop the widget to move it to a new location on the canvas.

This table gives an overview of all the configuration fields on the Settings tab:

Field Description
Name Specify a name for the widget. The default name is Multi-Axis Chart. This field is mandatory. Maximum 50 characters.
Y-Axis section Collapsible accordion section for configuring each Y-axis. At least two Y-axes (Y-Axis 1 and Y-Axis 2) are always present. You can add up to ten Y-axes in total. To add a Y-axis, click the + Add Y-Axis button. Each Y-axis section contains the fields described below.
Graph type (per Y-axis) Select the type of visualization for this Y-axis:
  • LINE (default option)
  • COLUMN
  • AREA
Data to Display (per Y-axis) Select the metric to plot on this Y-axis. Only numeric metrics are available:
  • Process Metrics
  • Event Level Metrics
  • Attributes
This field is mandatory.
Aggregation (per Y-axis) Select the aggregation method for the selected metric:
  • AVG
  • COUNT
  • MAX
  • MEDIAN
  • MIN
  • RATIO
  • SUM
This field is mandatory. The aggregation field is pre-filled based on the selected metric.
Axis Side (per Y-axis) Select the side of the chart where this Y-axis is drawn:
  • Left (default option for Y-Axis)
  • Right (default option for Y- Axis 2)
Multiple Y-axes can share the same side.
Custom Label toggle (per Y-axis) Enable a custom label for this Y-axis. When this setting is on, a text input is displayed. When this setting is off, the label is derived from the metric name.
Label text input (per Y-axis) Custom label text for the Y-axis. This optio is available only when the Custom Label toggle is on. Maximum 45 characters.
Color (per Y-axis) Select the color for the series bound to this Y-axis using the color picker. A default palette color is assigned automatically. Changing the color updates the chart visualization and the legend.
Limit Top N Results (Y-Axis 1 only) Limit the number of X-axis categories displayed. Specify an integer value between 1 and 100. The default is 100. The Top N categories are determined based on the metric configured on Y-Axis 1. All other Y-axes display values only for those Top N categories, using zero for missing values. This field is available only in the Y-Axis 1 configuration section.
X-Axis section Collapsible accordion section for configuring the X-axis grouping.
Group By Select the field to group data on the X-axis (for example, Supplier). This field is mandatory.
Custom Label toggle (X-axis) Enable a custom label for the X-axis. When this setting is on, a text input is displayed. When this setting is off, the label is derived from the Group By field name.
Label text input (X-axis) Custom label text for the X-axis. Available only when the Custom Label toggle is on. Maximum 45 characters.
Note: Benchmark values are not supported in the Multi-Axis Chart widget.
