Migration to Process Map Designer 2.0

Existing diagrams created in Process Map Designer 1.0 require migration before you use Process Map Designer 2.0. The current release supports manual migration only.

During manual migration, you open a 1.0 diagram in the Process Map Designer 1.0 editor, review the diagram, and then start migration to version 2.0.

After you save the migrated diagram, the diagram always opens in Process Map Designer 2.0. You cannot convert the diagram back to version 1.0.

Migration is available when the diagram is in Draft mode.

Migration results

The migrated process map keeps the same content and is displayed in the Process Map Designer 2.0 layout.

The migrated process maps keep the original shapes and attributes, with these exceptions:

  • A Rectangle shape that has a Text shape on top becomes one Rectangle shape. The text becomes the rectangle name, and Show label is selected. The text must appear near the rectangle center and must not connect to lines. The merge applies only to Rectangle shapes.
  • Text that uses Oblique formatting in version 1.0 uses Italic formatting in version 2.0.
  • New attributes that version 2.0 added, such as Font family and Opacity, are displayed in the migrated shapes. These attributes use the version 2.0 default values.
