Work with the elements palette and canvas 2.0
Elements Palette 2.0
- Rectangles represent activities or tasks.
- Circles represent start or end points.
- Diamonds represent decision points.
This table gives an overview of the elements available on the palette:

A container has a rectangle shape but it has specific business attributes. Use a container to group several other shapes. Insert other shapes in the area of the container. |
Add element 2.0
To add an element:
- From the palette: Drag a shape from the elements palette onto the canvas and place it in the desired location.
- From the context menu: Right-click an existing element on the canvas and select one of the available shape icons.
The new element is added and automatically connected to the selected element with a straight line.
Move the element as needed.
To specify the element name in the text label, double-click the element.
To hide the label, clear the checkbox next to Name in the element’s attributes panel.
Edit element attributes and add related documents 2.0
- Select an element on the canvas to display its properties in the attributes panel.
- In the main attributes section, specify basic properties such as the name, description, and formatting options.
- To edit business attributes, in the business attributes section, specify values such as the business process code and key characteristics.
These values are shown in the element’s attributes panel in Process Viewer and are included in documents generated for the process map.
If needed, to add related documents, attach one or more documents from Infor Document Management (IDM) or add a link to a web resource.
In Process Viewer, you can open or download these documents to access additional information related to the process map.
To configure custom attributes, specify values for any custom attributes defined for the element.

Arrange elements on palette 2.0
- Rearrange
To rearrange sections of the process map, select the elements and move them as needed. To select multiple elements, click and drag.
- Align elements on palette
Use helper alignment lines to align the elements if needed. The helper alignment lines are shown when you move the element.
- Layer elements
Use the order controls to layer the elements as needed.
- Set element's opacity
Use controls in the Attributes panel to adjust the element’s opacity, that is make the element more or less transparent.
Connect elements on palette 2.0
To connect elements, you can:
- Draw lines:
- Select the first element.
- Click the icon in the context menu.
- Select the target element.
- Use automatic linking
Select a shape icon in the context menu. The new shape is added to the canvas and automatically linked to the original element.
- Use connection points
When you move over an unselected shape, the connection points with arrow indicators are shown. Use these connection points to draw lines and create precise connections between steps.
Edit shapes 2.0
- Copy shapes
Press CTRL+C and CTRL+V to duplicate shapes with their attributes.
- Delete shapes
Select a shape. Click the icon in the upper-left corner of the shape.
- Resize shapes
Select a shape. Drag the green resizing handles. To specify a size, use height, width, or radius in the attributes panel.
- Edit labels
Double-click a shape and specify a label. In the attributes panel, specify formatting attributes such as font, font size, and font color.
- Show or hide labels
Select the Show label checkbox in the attributes panel.
