Import and export Process Mining content

In Process Mining, you can import and export CloudSuites, Processes, Objects, and Insights along with their contents.

These actions are available through the context menu in the relevant sections.

  • Export: Use the More actions menu to export CloudSuites, Processes, Objects, or Insights. The selected items and their contents are saved to a .ZIP archive.
  • Import: Use the context menu to import CloudSuites, Processes, Objects, or Insights from a .ZIP archive. You can add or update content in your environment.

With import and export options in the Process Mining application users can transfer content such as CloudSuites, Processes, Objects, and Insights, between tenants or within the same tenant. User can reuse or migrate content without having to recreate it.

Import and export options based on role

The table below lists the import and export options available to a user based on that user's assigned security role:

  • Custom CloudSuite (definitions only) from Data Definition (single and multiple)
  • Custom CloudSuite (definitions and insights) from Data Definition (single and multiple)
  • Custom Process from Data Definition (single and multiple)
  • Custom Object from Data Definition (single and multiple)
  • Custom CloudSuite (insights only) from Insights Designer (single and multiple)
  • Custom Insight from Insights Designer (single and multiple)

A user with this role can import:

  • Custom CloudSuite(s) (definitions only) in Data Definition
  • Custom CloudSuite(s) (definitions and insights) in Data Definition
  • Custom Process(es) in Data Definition
  • Custom Object(s) in Data Definition
  • Custom CloudSuite(s) (insights only) in Insights Designer
  • Custom Insight(s) in Insights Designer

A user with this role can export:

  • Custom CloudSuite (definitions only) from Data Definition (single and multiple)
  • Custom CloudSuite (definitions and insights) from Data Definition (single and multiple)
  • Custom Process from Data Definition (single and multiple)
  • Custom Object from Data Definition (single and multiple)

A user with this role can import:

  • Custom CloudSuite(s) (definitions only) in Data Definition
  • Custom CloudSuite(s) (definitions and insights) in Data Definition
  • Custom Process(es) in Data Definition
  • Custom Object(s) in Data Definition

A user with this role can export:

  • Custom CloudSuite (insights only) from Insights Designer (single and multiple)
  • Custom Insight from Insights Designer (single and multiple)

A user with this role can import:

  • Custom CloudSuite(s) (insights only) in Insights Designer
  • Custom Insight(s) in Insights Designer

Conflict resolution during import

When importing, if an item with the same name already exists, you can:

  • Skip & Import: Existing items are not changed; only new items are added.
  • Merge: Existing items are merged with the imported content; new items are added.
  • Overwrite: Existing items are replaced with the imported content; new items are added.

Importing a CloudSuite

If a CloudSuite with the same name exists, and you select:

  • Skip & Import: The existing CloudSuite remains unchanged.
  • Merge: The content is merged.
  • Overwrite: The existing CloudSuite is replaced.

Exporting content

  1. Open the relevant section (Data Definition or Insights Designer).
  2. Select the item(s) you want to export.
  3. Select the export option (single or multiple).
  4. Download the export file.

Importing content

  1. Open the import section in Data Definition or Insights Designer.
  2. Upload the export file.
  3. Review the list of items to be imported.
  4. Select how to resolve conflicts:
    • Skip & Import
    • Merge
    • Overwrite
  5. Confirm and complete the import.
