Flow

The Flow widget visualizes process stages as a connected sequence of steps.

Each step represents a sub-process stage and shows key performance indicators.

Use the Flow widget to monitor the health of each stage across an end-to-end process. The widget provides a high-level view of process performance.

A Flow widget contains one or more named steps that are arranged horizontally from left to right. Arrow separators between steps indicate the sequence of the process flow. Each step contains one to three metrics. Each metric uses the same data source and configuration model that the Single Metric widget uses.

Configure these settings for each metric:

Each metric displays:

A computed value, color-coded based on the threshold status.
A label identifying the metric.
A status icon when a threshold is configured

Metrics without a configured threshold show no status icon and use default text color.

On the widget, you can use the icons in the toolbar for several actions.

This table gives an overview of the icons and their corresponding actions:


Action	Icon	Description
Delete		Remove the widget from the canvas. By removing a widget from the canvas, you also remove its configurations.
Copy		Create a copy of the widget, including its configuration and filters.
Filter		Filter the data in the widget. See Filter data in an insight on how to configure a filter.
Configure		Open the Settings tab in the right side panel.
Move		Move the widget by dragging and dropping it on the canvas.

The Settings tab for the Flow widget uses a multi-row accordion layout. The widget displays steps as expandable rows. Each step contains metrics that the widget displays as nested expandable rows.

This table describes all configuration fields on the Settings tab.


Field	Description
Name	Specify a name for the widget. This field is optional.
Steps	Add one or more steps to define the flow. The widget displays each step as an expandable row. A Flow widget must contain at least one step and can contain up to 10 steps. To add a step, click Add Step (+). To reorder steps, drag and drop step rows. To remove a step, click the delete icon on the step row. You cannot remove the last remaining step.
Label	Specify a label for the step (maximum 50 characters). This label identifies the sub-process stage. Long labels are truncated. Hover over the label to see the full text in a tooltip. This field is mandatory.
Label background color	Select a background color for the label from the list.
Label font color	Select a font color for the label from the list.
Metrics (per step)	Add one or more metrics within a step. The widget displays each metric as a nested expandable row within the step. A step must contain at least one metric and can contain up to three metrics. To add a metric, click Add Metric (+) within the step. To reorder metrics, drag and drop metric rows. To remove a metric, click the delete icon on the metric row.
Data to Display (per metric)	Select the data that the widget displays. These are the available data types: Process Metrics: The list contains default metrics that the application calculates from data that is loaded into the database: Case Count Case Cycle Time Event Count Variant Count Event Level Metrics: The list contains configured event-level metrics. Attributes: The list contains attributes that are loaded into the database.
Aggregation (per metric)	Select the aggregation to apply to the selected data to display. These options are available: Avg Count Max Median Min Sum Ratio (Formula only)
Format (per metric) Font Color	Specify the font color for the Name and metric. Black is the default color. When a threshold is defined, the default color is inherited from the threshold value.
Format (per metric) Prefix/Suffix	Define a prefix or suffix for the data. You can define up to five characters for each type. The default value is empty.
Format (per metric) Localize value	Use the switcher to set a thousand-separator for larger numbers. The separator that is used is the dot (.) or the comma (,) based on localization. The switcher is set to on by default.
Format (per metric) Precision	Define the number of digits after the dot (.) or the comma (,) (based on localization). The field only accepts integer numbers from 0 to 9. The default value is set to 2.
Format (per metric) Display as percentage	Use the switcher to display the number as a percentage. When the switcher is set to on, the value is multiplied by 100, and a % symbol is added at the end of the value. The switcher is set to off by default. This switcher can be set to on only if the Abbreviate long values switcher is set to off and vice versa.
Format (per metric) Abbreviate long values	Use the switcher to abbreviate long values: If the value has 4-6 digits, the last 3 digits are removed, rounding is applied, and a K is added at the end of the value. If the value has 7-9 digits, the last 3 digits are removed, rounding is applied, and an M is added at the end of the value. If the value has more than 9 digits, the last 3 digits are removed, rounding is applied, and a B is added at the end of the value. This switcher can be set to on only if the Display as percentage switcher is set to off and vice versa.
Threshold (per metric) No of Regions	Select the number of regions for the threshold. These options are available: None: do not set any threshold region 2: set two threshold regions 3: set three threshold regions
Threshold (per metric) Swap color	Swap the color of the regions.
Threshold (per metric) Goal	Set a goal for the metric. This field is optional.
Threshold (per metric) Industry Benchmark	The industry benchmark value is a static value displayed on the Line and Area charts as a line. This configuration is only available when Data to Display is: Process Metrics: Case Cycle Time Event Level Metrics: type Cycle Time To select a value: Click the Edit icon. In the dialog box, select a process from the list. To search for text in a column name, specify a search term in the Search field. The application filters the list of available objects in the left panel based on the search term. To remove the search filter, click the close icon in the Search field. Click Save to save the configuration. The added value is displayed in the box. To remove the selected value, click the delete icon.
Threshold (per metric) Threshold Input	This configuration is displayed only when the No of regions is set to 2. This field is mandatory.
Threshold (per metric) Threshold 1	Define the greater or equal to value for the threshold region. This configuration is displayed only when the No of regions is set to 3. This field is mandatory.
Threshold (per metric) Threshold 2	Define the less or equal to value for the threshold region. This configuration is displayed only when the No of regions is set to 3. This field is mandatory.
