Adding a quick filter

Use quick filters to apply attribute filters by interacting with widgets. Quick filters are available on chart widgets and on the Process Explorer, Variant Explorer, and Event List widgets. This allows filtering based on specific data points.
  1. Click a data point in a widget (for example, a bar in a bar chart).
  2. Select the filter scope and filter settings.
  3. Apply the filter.
  4. Confirm that the filter reflects the selected data point and that the data is filtered accordingly.

Adding quick filters from chart

  1. Click a data point in the Chart widget, for example, a bar in a bar chart or a slice in a pie chart.
  2. Review the Filter dialog box with a pre-populated attribute filter based on the selected element.
  3. Select the filter scope:
    • Widget
    • Page (default value)
    • Insight
  4. Edit the value if needed.
  5. Click Apply.

Adding quick filters from Process Explorer and Variant Explorer

  1. Click the Add quick filter icon (filter with plus) in a popover in the Process Explorer widget or Variant Explorer widget.
  2. In the Filter dialog box, select the filter scope:
    • Widget
    • Page (default value)
    • Insight
  3. You can access and edit the filter from:
    • Event node:
      • An event filter is pre-populated with values for the selected event.
      • You can specify the Includes and Excludes conditions.
    • Connection:
      • In the Process Flow Filter, specify Event A (From) and Event B (To).
      • Specify the condition connecting the events. The default value is IS DIRECTLY FOLLOWED BY.
    • Start connection:
      • In the Flow Start & End Filter, select cases that start or end with a specific event.
      • Start Event is pre-populated, End Event is empty.
    • End connection:
      • In the Flow Start & End Filter, select cases that start or end with a specific event.
      • End Event is pre-populated, Start Event is empty.
  4. Click Apply.

Adding a quick filter from Event List

  1. Click an event row in the Event List widget.
  2. Review the dialog box that shows the event name and three metric cards:
    • Event Count
    • Case Count
    • Cycle Time
  3. Click the quick filter icon in the dialog box.
  4. Review the Quick Filter dialog box with an Event filter field that contains the selected event.
  5. Select the filter scope:
    • Widget
    • Page (default value)
    • Insight
  6. Click Apply.
  7. To close the dialog box, click the same event row.
