Add element 2.0
To add an element:
- From the palette: Drag a shape from the elements palette onto the canvas and place it in the desired location.
- From the context menu: Right-click an existing element on the canvas and select one of the available shape icons.
Move the element as needed.
Double-click the element to add the element name.
To hide the label, clear the checkbox next to Name in the element’s attributes panel.
Edit element attributes and add related documents 2.0

These values are shown in the element’s attributes panel in Process Viewer and are included in documents generated for the process map.
If needed, to add related documents, attach one or more documents from Infor Document Management (IDM) or add a link to a web resource.
In Process Viewer, you can open or download these documents to access additional information related to the process map.
To configure custom attributes, specify values for any custom attributes defined for the element.
For details about configuring custom attributes, see Infor Process Intelligence User and Administration Library (Cloud) and select .
Arrange elements on palette 2.0
- Rearrange
To rearrange sections of the process map, select the elements and move them as needed. To select multiple elements, click and drag.
- Align elements on palette
Use helper alignment lines to align the elements if needed. The helper alignment lines are shown when you move the element.
- Layer elements
Use the order controls to layer the elements as needed.
- Set element's opacity
Use controls in the Attributes panel to adjust the element’s opacity, that is make the element more or less transparent.
Connect elements on palette 2.0
Process Map Designer uses two distinct handle types when you interact with shapes:
- Connection points, which are circles at the top, bottom, left, and right edges of the shape. Use to create connectors between shapes.
- Resize handles, which are squares at the corners of the shape. Use to resize the shape.
Hover over any shape to see its four connection points. The points appear as small circles on the top, bottom, left, and right edges of the shape.
When you click a shape to select it, both connection points and resize handles are displayed.
Use Quick-connect to create a connected shape:
- Hover over a shape and point to one of its connection points. The point fills solid and a tooltip Click to connect appears.
- Click the connection point. A dashed connector stub extends from the shape and a shape picker menu opens.
- In the shape picker, hover over a shape type to preview where the new shape is placed.
- Click a shape type. The new shape is created in the direction of the connection point you clicked, top, bottom, left, or right, and is automatically connected to the source shape.
- The new shape is selected and ready for text editing.
To dismiss the shape picker without adding a shape, click anywhere outside the menu.
Drag-to-connect, for connecting existing elements:
- Select the element on the canvas
- Point to a connection point on a shape and drag toward another shape on the canvas.
- You are able to visualize the line you drag
- As the line approaches the target element, the target element displays its connection points to indicate where the connector can attach.
- Release the mouse button. The connector attaches to the element.
Draw lines to connect:
- Drag a line to the canvas from the shapes context menu
- The line highlights its connection points
- Drag one of the points to attach it to the element
- As the line approaches the target element, the target element displays its connection points to indicate where the connector can attach.
- Release the mouse button. The connector attaches to the element.
Adjusting connectors
You can move the connector's attachment point, after a connector is created:
- Select the connector.
- Drag the connector's endpoint along the edge of the shape to reposition it.
The adjusted position is preserved when you move or resize connected shapes.
To change the path of a connector:
- Select the connector.
- Drag the connector's midpoint handle to reroute the line.
Manual path adjustments are preserved across diagram changes. The system does not override your adjustments when shapes are moved.
When no manual adjustments have been made, connectors automatically reroute when you move connected shapes. The system uses orthogonal paths and routes around other shapes on the canvas.
