Conformance

The Conformance widget is a specialized widget designed to evaluate and ensure that processes adhere to predefined standards, models, or rules. It compares actual process executions against ideal or expected workflows, identifying deviations, compliance issues, and areas for improvement. The widget allows for the mapping of multiple BPMN diagrams per Insight, enabling comprehensive comparison with Infor-provisioned processes.

This is particularly useful for processes that span multiple diagrams due to the extensive number of steps involved, ensuring accurate alignment with the captured mining data.

On the widget, you can use the icons on the toolbar for several actions.

This table gives an overview of the icons and their corresponding actions:

Action Icon Description
Delete Delete Remove the widget from the canvas. By removing a widget from the canvas, you also remove its configurations.
Copy Copy Create a copy of the widget, including its configurations and filters.
Note: Each page can contain only one Conformance widget.
Filter Filter Filter the data in the widget. See the Filter data in an insight on how to configure a filter.
Configure Configure Open the Settings tab in the right-side panel. Open a pop-up to configure the duration format. These options are available:
  • Default
  • Days
  • Hours
  • Minutes
Move Move Move the widget by dragging and dropping it on the canvas.

To link one or more BPMN models to your Insight, click Link BPMN Diagram, which is displayed after the Conformance Widget is dragged and dropped to the canvas. After you click Link BPMN Diagram, the Settings tab is opened.

Note: Only one conformance widget is allowed per page.

This table gives an overview of all the configuration fields on the Settings tab:

Field Description
BPMN Models Click the + button to open the Select BPMN Model modal. In the modal, the list of available BPMN models is displayed for each Process Modeler folder.

To search for text contained in the name of the folders and models, type a search term in the search box. By searching, you apply a filter to the list. You can remove a search term by clicking the close icon on the search box.

Mapping to locked BPMN models is allowed. The locked content is highlighted via a red lock icon which is displayed next to the name of the folder, subfolder or BPMN model.

You can select one or more models by clicking the check boxes and clicking Apply to confirm the selection. To close the modal, click Close.

After the modal is closed, the selected models are displayed in a list on the Settings panel.

To remove a selected model from the list, click the Delete icon next to the name of the model. Deleted models are available for selection again in the Select BPMN Model modal.

To re-order the list of models, hover over a model name and drag and drop to desired position.

Note: All changes applied to the list of selected models, such as adding a model, removing a model, or re-ordering the list, can be visualized in the widget only after you click Apply on the Settings panel.
Layout To change the layout of the selected BPMN models, click one of these options:
  • Grid Layout (default)
  • Vertical Layout
  • Horizontal Layout
Note: To visualize the newly selected layout in the widget, click Apply on the Settings panel.
Events A list of available events is displayed. Based on the setting of the Loaded toggle:

When the Loaded toggle is ON (default), the list displays loaded events for the selected objects to be used in the Insight.

When Loaded toggle is OFF, the list displays all defined events in Data Definition.

To search for text in the event's name, type a search term in the search box. By searching, you apply a filter to the list. You can remove a search term by deleting the typed term.

Each event in the list can be mapped to an event box in the selected BPMN models. To map the event, hover over it and drag and drop it to the desired event box on the widget.

Note: After mapping one or more events, click Apply on the Settings panel. Without clicking Apply, even if you save the Insight by clicking Save Insight, the mapping is not saved.

To remove a mapped event from a box, click the count number displayed on the box to see the list of mapped events to the box. Click the Delete icon next to the desired event. After the event is unmapped, it is added back to the list on the Settings panel.

Note: After removing mapping for one or more events, click Apply on the Settings panel. Without clicking Apply, even if you save the Insight by clicking Save Insight, the removed mapping is not saved.
Auto-Map Click Auto-Map to map events automatically to the selected BPMN models. The mapping is done based on name: if the name of the event is the same as the name of the event box, then a mapping is done.
Note: After auto-mapping, click Apply on the Settings panel. Without clicking Apply, even if you save the Insight by clicking Save Insight, the mapping is not saved.
Clear All Mappings Click Clear All Mappings to remove all mappings from all selected BPMN models. The removed mapped events are added to the list on the Settings panel.
Note: After removing all mappings, click Apply in the Settings panel. Without clicking Apply, even if you save the Insight by clicking Save Insight, the removed mapping is not saved.

BPMN models with new approved versions

When a BPMN model that is used in a Conformance widget has a new approved version, the user is alerted when entering the Insight. To use the new version, go to the Settings panel of the Conformance widget. The BPMN models that have a new version have an alert icon next to the name. To use the new version of the BPMN model:

  1. Click the Delete icon next to the BPMN model.
  2. Click the + icon to open the Select BPMN model modal.
  3. Select again the same BPMN model.
  4. Click Apply on the modal.
  5. Click Apply on the Settings panel to view the model in the widget.
  6. Map the events to the model.
  7. Click Apply on the Settings panel to apply the mappings.
  8. Click Save Insight to save the changes.

BPMN models deleted from folders

When a BPMN model that is used in a Conformance widget is deleted from its original folder, the widget settings must be updated as well. To remove the deleted BPMN model from the widget, go to the Settings panel of the Conformance widget. The BPMN models that are deleted have an Info icon next to the name.

To remove the BPMN model:

  1. Click the Delete icon next to the deleted BPMN model.
  2. Click Apply on the Settings panel. Previously mapped events are now available again for mapping.
  3. Click Save Insight to save the changes.
