Filter data in an insight

Data that is displayed in an insight can be filtered.

Filters can be applied on these levels:

  • Insight level: Filters that are applied on this level filter the data of all pages and widgets that are available in the insight.
  • Page level: Filters that are applied on this level filter the data of all widgets that are available in the page.
  • Widget level: Filters that are applied on this level filter only the data of the widget.

The same filters are available in all levels, and the same configurations apply to all.

See the sections below on how to configure and apply the available filters.

Attribute Filter

The attribute filter is used to select cases based on column values.

This table gives an overview of the configuration options for the filter:

Field Description
Attribute Select an attribute from the drop-down list to populate the value field with its values. The list is populated with attributes that are loaded into the database.
Condition Select a condition to be applied to the selected attribute. These conditions are available:

Value Select one or more values to include in the calculation.

Event Filter

The event filter is used to select cases that include and/or exclude specified events.

This table gives an overview of the configuration options for the filter:

Field Description
Condition includes Event Select one or more events from the drop-down list to include them in the calculation. The list is populated with events that are loaded into the database.
OR (includes) Use the switcher to filter the list of selected events using an “OR” condition. If the switcher is off, the condition applied between the selected events is “AND.” If the switcher is on, the condition applied between the selected events is “OR.” The switcher is off by default.
OR (between) Use the switcher to filter for both included and excluded events using an “OR” condition in between. If the switcher is off, the condition applied between the lists of events is “AND.” If the switcher is on, the condition applied between the lists of events is “OR.” The switcher is off by default.
Condition excludes Event Select one or more events from the drop-down list to exclude them from the calculation. The list is populated with events that are loaded into the database.
OR (excludes) Use the switcher to filter the list of selected events using an “OR” condition. If the switcher is off, the condition applied between the selected events is “AND.” If the switcher is on, the condition applied between the selected events is “OR.” The switcher is off by default.

Condition Select a condition to connect the selected first and last event. These conditions are available:
  • Is directly followed by
  • Is not directly followed by
  • Is never followed by
  • Is eventually followed by

You can click the + icon to add another condition and event to build more complex flows. You can click the x icon to remove a condition and a related event from the list.

Event Select an event from the drop-down list to set it as the last event of the flow. The list is populated with events that are loaded into the database.
