Working with the process map elements

This table gives an overview of the elements available on the palette:

Element Icon Description
Rectangle Rectangle Draw a rectangle shape.
Circle Circle Draw a circle shape.
Image Image Place an image on the canvas. You can select any image from an Image Library in the registry.
Line Line Draw a line. Use it to connect two shapes.
Text Text Add a text box.
Container Container Place a container on the canvas. A container has a rectangle shape, but it has different business attributes. Use a container when you want to collect several other shapes together. Place other shapes onto the area of the container.

After an element is placed on the canvas, you can edit its attributes on the panel on the right side:

  • Main attributes to describe the general properties of the shape.
  • Business attributes that contain industry-specific values.
  • Related documents to allow attaching documents specific to this element. For details, see Infor Document Management related documents.
  • Custom attributes that contain customer-specific values. These attributes are optional and are defined by an administrator in Modeling Configuration > Custom Attributes. See the Infor Process Intelligence Administration Guide for details.

To edit the attribute values, you use specific value pickers depending on the attribute type. In presentation mode, the attribute values for various shapes are shown on the attributes panel of the shape.

These attributes have a special meaning:

  • "Diagram Link" and "Show Link Icon" are used together. If you would like to link the current shape to another diagram, select the target diagram name as Diagram Link. In viewer mode, you can use these ways to navigate to the target diagram:
    • If the Show Link Icon check box is selected, the link icon is shown on top of the shape. Click the link icon to navigate to the target diagram. Click the shape to open and close its attribute panel.
    • If the Show Link Icon check box is not selected, click the shape to navigate to the target diagram. In this case, the attributes panel cannot be open. Use this option when the shape does not have any business attributes to show.
  • The text and rich text type attributes can be edited in the Process Map Designer, or they can be associated with a registry entry that has been predefined for reuse. For details, see Content translation.
  • The Application Navigation attribute is used to define navigation links to other applications. For details, see Application Navigation.
  • The Image attribute for the Image element is used to select an image from the registry and place it on the canvas. In the registry, the administrator can upload SVG and PNG images into Image Library type categories. For details, see the Infor Process Intelligence Administrator Guide.
  • The Bend Type attribute is used to specify if a line is straight or curved. When you select the Bend Type to be Curved, the curved line is automatically drawn when the two connected objects have a different x/y position. If they are aligned along the same direction as the line, the line remains straight. You can further adjust the line curvature manually.
Note: The automatic redrawing of the line is not applied when you select the bend type to be Straight.
