Running the reorganize registry entries wizard

Follow these steps to run the reorganize registry entries wizard:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Registry Tools and click Start on the tile named Reorganize registry entries.
  2. In the first step, Assign categories, a list of all the main folders that are not locked is presented. For each folder to be organized, type a subcategory name in the mapping table and then save changes.
  3. Select Organize entries to move to the next step. Click Organize to trigger the registry reorganization step.
A progress indicator is shown as long as the script is running. This can take seconds for reorganizing a folder with few contents or up to hours for organizing one of the largest such as the Industry Process Catalog. You can close the wizard and check back on the progress later.
  4. Optionally, click Cancel on the Organize entries screen to abort the script execution. In this case, the whole transaction is rolled back and no changes are made.
When the script execution has completed, you are automatically presented with the Review results screen:
  • If the script execution is successful, a summary of the changes that were applied is shown.
  • If the script execution is canceled, an information message is shown. In this case no changes are made.
  • If the script execution fails, you see an error message as returned by the backend. If you want to report an incident with Infor Support, include this message as well as the export of the folder to be organized.
Note: Running the reorganize registry entries wizard has an effect on the data that are present in the system at the time the script is run. If you create new models or import folder content that is created using a previous registry structure, the old registry structure is restored for that content. You must run the registry reorganization tool again to keep all registry data organized.
