Infor OS Service Limits
Usage of all Infor OS components including ION is controlled by license, associated usage, and technical limitations. The license limits are detailed on contracts, for example, prior to May 2020 the number of messages that ION is licensed for per year and so on. The usage limits are contained within the manuals, for example, sFTP from the cloud is allowed only on port 22.
To improve clarity and visibility, we have elevated a number of the core usage limits to the following site:
https://docs.infor.com/inforos/12.0.x/en-us/usagelimits_1_0/default.html
From May 2020, new license models are available that do not count ION messages, as requested by customer feedback. The new Infor OS license model offers Essentials, Professional, and Enterprise tiers for core Infor CloudSuites. Other specialist tiers will also be available for specific use cases; see the above site for details.
One specific note of importance is around the message size usage limit. In ION, the maximum message size for an individual message is 5 MB across all previous versions and the new Essentials tier. In the Essentials tier, we introduced an additional 1 MB buffer to allow flexibility and to prevent warnings for over-usage of just a few bytes. We are extending this 1 MB buffer to all previous versions with immediate effect. Also note that it is possible with the new tier model to get a larger message size allowance. This is not available with any of the older models; however, there is an upgrade path to the new models if this is a requirement.
