Enterprise Connector

You can use the Enterprise Connector to provide hybrid service integration for Infor Cloud services and your local deployed services.

Enterprise Connector provides an out-of-the-box connectivity with Infor Cloud through AWS SQS and S3 web services, used for intermediate storage. The Enterprise Connector service is deployed in your on-premises infrastructure and is responsible for the communication with the Infor Cloud services. The Enterprise Connector uses outbound connections to Amazon services that are exposed through https and port 443. Only an outbound connection is required. The services in the Infor cloud do not require any inbound connection to the Enterprise Connector. For performance reasons, the Enterprise Connector service must be installed close to the applications for which it has a connection point running. To achieve low latency, we recommend that the Enterprise Connector service is installed in the same network segment. You may have local services that are distributed over multiple physical locations. Therefore, it is supported to have multiple Enterprise Connector services for the same Infor Cloud tenant. In Infor OS an Enterprise Connector is related to a location.

Note: Enterprise Connector is not available in GovCloud because it is not certified for FedRAMP.

These services are supported:

ION CE

You can use the Enterprise Connector to integrate your local deployed applications with ION. The ION hybrid service in the Enterprise Connector is used for this. This hybrid service exchanges messages between ION CE and the on-premises applications that have a connection point defined that is related to this Enterprise Connector. Communication between the Enterprise Connector and ION CE is asynchronous. A single Enterprise Connector can serve multiple on-premises applications.

To create connection points that are related to on-premises applications, complete these steps in Infor OS (ION CE): Create an Enterprise Location first and install the related Enterprise Connector. Then create connection points that are related to that location.

For details on using Enterprise Connector connection points, see Integration with your local applications.

Infor Document Management (IDM)

You can use the Enterprise Connector to send print jobs from IDM to local printers. The IDM Enterprise Print Service that is deployed in the Enterprise Connector sends these print requests to the assigned printer in your local network. For more details on using Enterprise Connector connection points, see the Infor Document Management Administration Guide – Cloud Edition.

Note: To use the IDM Enterprise Print Service, you must install the Enterprise Connector on Windows. Linux is not supported in that case.
API Gateway

You can use the Enterprise Connector to establish communication between API Gateway and an on-premises target API without a direct network connection. This feature is available only on Cloud Edition.

To access the option, the desired enterprise location must first be created in ION by a user with the ION Admin role.

For details, see Creating a location.

This feature can be accessed in the target end point deployment details section of Non-Infor API suites, Infor non-provisioned API suites, or third-party API suites.
